Iker Casillas

Got to laugh at all the recommendations based on one or two games such as the Ochoa suggestion. I remember seeing Marco Storari playing on Football Italia or whatever it would have been and he looked amazing. Now since then to be fair he's been with Juventus and is now with Milan so clearly he's a talented lad.......but he never turned into the world class keeper I thought yet if I was knocking about on this forum back then i'd have chucked him in as a suggestion to replace Joe Hart.

The point i'm trying to make here and doing a pigs ear at doing so is that only a proven top class keeper should be brought in to even consider replacing Joe. Bringing in somebody just because they've pulled off a few decent saves here and there or have had a handful of good games is a little too dramatic.

If it wasn't World Cup year then Casillas or Cesar would of been a couple of good suggestions. Still we should give Hart one more season.

No, it's not based on one game though that game certainly brought him back to the focus. I've watched him several times in last year or so and in most of the games he was outstanding. And again, Ajaccio defensive stats are very decent - 17th in the league last year, 10th defensively. And that's mostly up to him, not the guys in front of him.

Very, very decent keeper. I'm obviously not professional football scout so I might be wrong if he is the quality for big club over the course of the season but someon bigger than Ajaccio will get very good keeper soon.

Not doubting he is a good keeper - I watched Storari as I say and he was an incredibly reliable shot stopper at wherever it was....Palermo, can't remember and too lazy to Google it. I'm just saying that it's not a realistic shout in my opinion to seriously suggest someone who is relatively unknown should become the clubs number 1 keeper. I think City is all about image these days too.......as a result I can only see a 'big name' keeper coming in, that's if we even do get one. Joe will probably come good again eventually to be honest. Maybe.

ilker casillas , has to be probably one of the most overrated keepers ever! he's a good keeper but I wouldn't put him in the world class bracket, he's just a decent goalkeeper who has always had a pretty decent defence in front of him,but when that defence has ever cracked he's always looked abit shaky to me.

I remember watching him at 20 years of age keeping goal for Real Madrid...the lad is class, always has been...always will be
