yup poor from him...not sure you can have him ferna silva and kdb all playing...just doesn't work

wasting your time mate if you expect the Silva brigade to digest those telling stats...!!

I thought he was okay today, made some things happen...almost scored

Pointless sums it up right about now. He had one good passage of play with nacho but a pretty poor shot at the end of it. Hoping he comes good and starts to play like the player we thought we bought sooner rather than later.
 
To be honest I didn't know much about him when we signed him but I was excited as people on here were saying we were signing one of the worlds best midfielders but I've yet to see that from him so far. Maybe he's still settling and maybe he's still recovering from that injury but he's hardly grabbed a game by the scruff and made that midfield his yet.
 
My opinion.
You could level all the arguements/comments about him against all 3 creative central players today.
Don't think KdB, Silva or Gundogen had good games - and therein lies the problem
 
He's played 5-7 games and was out for 5 months due to an injury, is in a new league and like the rest of the team learning a new style of play.
 
He looked very nervous today, after a couple of early misplaced passes he seemed to adopt the attitude of just finding the nearest blue shirt!
Thought he improved in the 2nd half but our midfield was horrible today!

I doubt very much gundogen, silva and debruyne (arguably our 3 best passers of the ball) will all play so poorly collectively again!

More interesting would be where those passes went, he seemingly just wants to pass backwards at the moment. Not sure if he's been told to do so but he's playing it very safe & looks scared to take any risks with his distribution which is leading to a lot of hesitancy when some good forward passes seem to be on.

Maintain he'll end up being a great signing, but at the moment he's off the pace - probably not helped by others in midfield seemingly being out of form too. We looked more balanced with a Silva/KdB/Dinho midfield, hopefully he can settle in & start to perform consistently at the level he's already shown to be capable of.

39.5% of his passes this season have been backwards

Silva 42.3%
Kev 36.7%
 
It's overkill having him in the midfield at home alongside Fernandinho.

If we play 3 at the back then for me we find room for Kelechi. Yes he didn't look great when starting against Everton but he and Kun need to start playing more games together and giving the opposition defence more to think about.

Have you got todays for Gundogan? 95% pass accuracy sounds fab on paper, but from my eyes & evidently others he didn't have a good game. Was far better in other matches this season.
 
Ok he is very good player, but our record without him is much better, we played the best football with ( Fernandinho, Silva & KDB )
