What's embarrassing is comparing Gundogan favourably to Fernandinho.
Nope, what’s embarrassing is feeling the need to slag players off. I also have a sneaky feeling that Pep Guardiola knows a bit fucking more than you do about what makes a good player

Which proves the point that they should have done better since we scored 3 from those shots. For the unpedantic.

It doesn't really prove anything, I was just pointing out your error because I'm a pedantic ****.

I have a sneaky feeling you need to read the thread before you comment.

Which game were you watching and why would a better team have scored

I won't bother. I'll let Guardiola do it instead.

“I was delighted for the victory against Arsenal, but ahead of the game against Chelsea we will be showing the players the last 10 minutes of the first half and the first 20 minutes of the second half of that game because if that was in the Champions League then we would be out.

Gundogan does have a different set of skills to Fern; there's no doubt about that. His movement off the ball is excellent; he can receive the ball in tight areas with ease; he is very adept at receiving the ball on the half turn; he can begin attacks quickly; he is a strong runner with the ball and can score goals. I would much rather focus on what a player can do. Some focus on what they can't but given his history with us, I am delighted to have another player of his quality on board.

Some interesting logic appearing in this thread.

Bit like Fawlty Towers: "don't mention the war".

Don't mention that Gundogan wasn't very good.

Ok, he wasn't very good & we are allowed to say that & make excuses for him not being very good, but how dare any of you lot who said he wasn't very good, say he wasn't very good.

He was fine.

Thought Gundogan did ok in the role but it is clearly not his position and never will be.

His performance was helped by the fact that Arsenal were not clinical and overall were poor.

Play him there against a better team and it’s trouble. He is a fine squad player and nothing more.

One of my biggest issues with him is he often disappears in matches for long periods of time. Saw this initially when he joined but didn’t expect it to continue for this long.

He's had a couple of vibrant performances in europe in particular, where you think 'this is what Pep signed him for' then a week later he's back to being the non Superman version of Stephen Ireland.
