It's because he doesn't have a lot of credit in the bank already. He's fine in a game where we are not tested. He's a neat footballer.Hes being scapegoated.
He was put in a stupid role which exposed us, but it's not his fault he didn't turn into a brilliant defensive winger who could bail out Walker, or suddenly become a rapid box to box who can cut out counterattacks.
Hes 27/28, he has a game, and you pick him to play that game. He didn't do that well but most of the things being levelled against him are products of him being selected and played in a weird position.
But in intense games he sometimes struggles to make an impact. And in games where he is supposed to be the tempo setter (games where KDB and Silva don't play), he doesn't do it and is a big reason behind why we have never really looked in control against weaker opposition in the cups (despite winning it oddly enough).
