Ilkay Gundogan - 2018/19 performances

I’ve been one of his biggest critics but I can’t deny he’s proving me wrong lately with some very good performances.

His passes today were brilliant.

He is the 2nd best DM at the club right now.

Agreed. FI is bunkers when it relates to Silly Ilkay.

But you have to agree that was funny. I mean, I disliked the bias that created it. But I can admit to it's comedic nature.

Against lower level teams he does well, we've seen a reoccurence of this now.

Happy for him to always start against them, just not any team of quality - that's when he goes missing and resembles a traffic cone.

When he's able to play at his own pace you can see why Pep rated him in the first place, he creates goals for fun. I don't think he will be able to do that against many of the top teams unless he can make that adjustment for the pace of the PL(not every player can) but I think he needed these couple of games to remind himself and everyone else, he does belong at the top in some capacity.

No matter the opposition, there's not many players around who could do the numbers he's done(with the same quality) in the past few games.
