Ilkay Gundogan - 2018/19 performances

This is exactly how we should be handling this position. Fernandinho plays all the big matches, when fit. Even a few against weaker opposition if there's enough time between fixtures. Everything else should be Ilkay. Doubt Pep will leave out Fern if he's fit, but if he picks Gundogan against Wolves I can't say he doesn't deserve it.

He’s best of run of form to date. Against Burton and Rotherham but maybe he can keep it up against tougher opponents.

I for one, think Gundogan is a top player.
Not as athletic as Fernandinho, but not many are.
Has a better range of passing though and can see the 'picture' a lot better than Ferny

I thought he did some good stuff again when he came on tonight, he's far better as an attacking player than in Fernandhino's role imho.
