The 11 on the pitch should have won that game easily. Again a team struggling, you can usually carry one may two poor performances but not all 11. Even with Gundog on, we could have played another hr and still not scored, just one of those gamesNobody is blaming him for the loss, just saying if you want to inject some intensity into the game you don’t bring him on...
:)If they were / are relegation candidates, bringing Ilky on would not have made any difference. Collectively, we were crap and got what we deserved
Hitting the wall instead of even testing an average at best keeper playing for a relegation candidate from good range in a game you are losing, possibly a game you concede the title in (at the time), yes for me it’s unusual. Sorry if I’m disappointed with his effort.
It was the oddest performance, misplaced passes, getting caugt in possesion, trying to pass through a congested middle when Sane or Sterling were in acres of space wide. Stuff we just don't do normally.I cannot think of anyone who had a good game. We passed the ball out of play 3 times in the first ten minutes and all our key players repeatedly misplaced passes throughout the game, giving Newcastle belief where they should have had none. The team was simply poor on the day.
