He has sure earned his place in the starting eleven now no doubt. Long may this continue. I like us to have the problem of deciding who plays and who sits out.

Lol, I know it's not easy for you to praise Ilkay, so fairplay to you,
but "played well" is a bit of an understatement.

Played really well!

Hahah it would be easier if he made a good tackle once in a while lol but he did really well I just thought other players outshined him.

Yep agree with others, in the best form of his City career and deserves to play instead of David at the moment. It’s hard to see that being a permanent thing, because I don’t believe David has reached an abrupt end, but for the time being the shirt is Ilkay’s (barring the usual rotation!)

Dave will play better playing less games. His energy and touch was a little more upbeat today when he came in for Dihno. Frankly I think Berny and Kev at the 2 starting CM with Gundo and Silva becking them up. One of Mahrez and Sane needs to step up and take over on the wings. At present neither is consistent enough to touch Berny out wide. Once they can Berny will go inside and displace Silva/Gundogan.

Honestly, don't even know if Bernardo will go inside again. I think his work rate out wide and the fact that we build up on the left so he drifts from right to center means he has found a new position on the right wing.

I would actually like to see Mahrez playing center attacking (as one of the higher attacking mids, not like Dinho or Gundogan). He seems to predictable wide right, and doesn't have the work rate to defend out wide that we want. He actually played as a #10 for Leicester quite often in his last season there and I'd like to see him there again, center, he perhaps won't be so predictable. Sane is still great just not at Sterling's level yet (no winger is, other than Bernie), so I am fine if he rotates on either wing.

Nobody has mentioned this, but considering Bernardo's success on RW, I'd like to see Foden play there as well, that's actually where he played for England's U17 in the world cup where he won player of the tournament, he hasn't been too impressive in a central role for me.

Starting to show a real hunger I didnt think he had tbh.

Seems to have been really motivated by the Newcastle loss.

Maybe he isn’t another Nasri ;-)
