I've only ever praised what he brings to this team on this thread(look it up). But he's just awful defensively and looks scared to put a tackle in incase he gets hurt. And unfortunately long term that's a negative that outweighs the positives.

He was excellent defensively for most of the game, reading the play and intercepting. But he should have done better with Maguire yes and shouldn't have played the attempted pass to Sane. Overall he was our 2nd best player behind Vinny.

Also should have played it back first time to Vinny instead of losing it to Choudry for the Kelechi chance.

He controlled the game as he always does from deep though and overall had a good game i agree

I've been saying for months, no one is better at reading and positioning. Defensively or in possession. He is a cut above.

When Ilkay was building up in their half already, Leicester were in red alert, not knowing what to expect.

You just know what happens next when Kyle has the ball or Zin, Laporte, (David and Foden quite out of the game),
even Bernardo and Raz didn't create much surprise.

Ilkay is making the difference really. Unpredictable and capable to initiate the right move.
