Even if you don't rate him, I'm finding it completely disrespectful to him all these people queuing up to campaign for him to go. After all the criticism for Sané and Garcia pushing to leave you'd think we'd be better.

Do you think people are saying these things out of spite or because we think we`d do better with a more mobile, more aggressive and faster player in his place

Yes I do think people are saying it out of spite. There's nothing wrong with thinking we can have a better player there but actively pushing for a player to leave that there's no indications that he's leaving because they don't like him is precisely spiteful.

I don`t know whether you`ve noticed but we are on Bluemoon a place where people give their opinions. we arent standing on the terraces booing the bloke or shouting in his face to fuck off.

"spiteful" for fucks sake

Yes, and you can give your opinions. But opinions can be shitty and spiteful. And as I have said, the pushing for him to go after all the bitching about Sané and Garcia angling for moves is hypocritical. Plus say what you want but being a dick to a City player, forum or not, is not something I can get behind.

You can disagree with me, but we are on a Bluemoon a place where people give opinions. And this is my opinion.

My opinion is you are a prick.

Anyway...

I hope he doesn't go. But it's clear Gundogan on his own won't carry us through the season.

Gundogan is a good player. No doubt.
The problem is that Gundo is past his peak at a time when the game is swinging further away from his skill set.

The game is getting bigger, stronger, faster, more direct in the final third today. When he was at Dortmund, he could probably hang with that. However, we are years and serious injuries beyond that point and I think Gundo, like Sergio and Ferna, is coming into his last year at City. Luiz is certainly an inexpensive addition into that midfield when we need some snap and some energy.

Gundo will head back to Turkey and get a few more years in front of a friendly crowd in 2021, and I will be glad for him. This next season will, I believe, be like David Silva’s this year...a swan song full of sporadic games.

Don't like how gets scapegoated sometimes when the team loses, when in fact many players and the coach are also underperforming, indicating systemic issues.

On Gundogan, I know alot of people hate the Gundogan-Rodri pivot, but I think it has its uses, particularly when we go 4231 and face high pressing teams, where we play it out of the back, like how we dismantled Liverpool comically 4-0 (should have been more).

Against Lyon, Peps 343 or 352 depending on what Kevin did, doesn't suit Gundogan as much because Lyon didn't press us and we didn't play it out from the back.

If Pep really wanted to go 3 at the back, I think Mendy LWB, Cancelo RWB, Walker RCB would have been a better setup for our defenders. Then for the midfield pairing Gundogan with Kevin would be better, to let Gundogan regularly drop deeper and help build up with a strong back 3.

Anyways, if teams sit back against us then the duo of Gundogan-Rodri is redundant as we don't need 2 of that type of player against a low block, Bernardo or Foden would then be better.

Basically, Gundogan (and Rodri) play well in particular set ups, and I think Pep hasn't done many favours for our players when he sets them up for failure before kick-off.
