Illegal PL streaming - 11 years in prison for "gang" leader.

No idea. But it's obviously a minority of people that watch all that stuff.

Maybe people want to watch one match a weekend and a highlights show and do other stuff with their free time not spend all day watching sport.
Now TV sport, £20 per month these days will cater to that crowd.

Part of the problem with sky is they won’t let you take sky sports as a stand alone package, charge say £15- 20 a month and they’d have subscription figures going through the roof, but as it is people are deserting in their droves and getting IPTV for roughly what £40 -80 a year, drop their prices and people might go back until then forget about it ..
You could try NOW TV at £25/month (sometimes lower) which doesn't require any base packages and can be cancelled any time. Just have to get used to the 90 sec delay and if HD is important that's £6 extra.

Perhaps but that's a special offer rate, you have to pay extra for HD it isn't included as standard. And you can’t see champions league games without spending more.

Makes sense to not pay through the nose unless you actually are satisfied with the product that Sky offer. You obviously are but others can vote with their feet.

Have you never watched a film online for free?

I can go to the cinema as many times I want for £14.99 a month as long as it isn't in a recliner or 3D screening there isn't an additional cost.
Look out for the annual subs having the odd sale for £110 then it works out at under a tenner a month. Also you don't need to pay extra for premium screens if you book for something that isn't just so you can get past the ticket check.

My unpopular opinion is that £600 is a very competitive price relative to all other forms of entertainment.

That's a subscription for Prime, BT Sport and Sky/NowTV sports. For that you get 200 PL games (usually 32/38 City games) 15 league cup games, 14 FA Cup all European games (533 across all 3 competitions).

That's not including 1,000 football league games (plus 30 conference games), Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A, Copa del Rey, International matches, Formula 1, Cricket, NFL, Rugby Union (international, premiership and European) and League, Tennis, Darts, Golf and NBA. Plus all the usual Amazon Prime TV shows.

Would I like it to be cheaper? Sure. But for £50 a month I watch as much sport as I could possibly want to. Most of the time there's too much on and I have to choose.

The 3 or 4 times a year City aren't televised, I'll take the dog for a walk and listen on the radio. Over the winter, I probably watch 60-80 hours a month of sport.

Compare that to the price per hour of Netflix, going to a film, the theatre, buying a hardcover book, a night out, a takeaway...it's actually very good value.

You are the "National Sales Director for Sky" and I claim my £5

In the US, Premier League games are on regular NBC or their streaming service Peacock - $5.99 a month.
FA Cup / League Cup - ESPN+ $5.99 a month
Champions League is on CBS's streaming service Paramount+ $5.99 a month
Interesting that. But in terms of popularity/demand in the home country wouldn’t American Football be a better comparison - what does that cost per month pal?
