I got the book for Christmas and for anyone who hasn't read it yet I can't recommend it highly enough. I got so engrossed in it I finished it in a couple of days, it really is an outstanding read.

There's some very interesting stories in there and properly funny moments as well as tragedy but I also found it very inspiring the way Lakey battled on to forge a new career after retiring from playing. Great to see him back at the club these days as CITC ambassador and doing an excellent job from what I've seen in the videos on the official site. The book should be required reading for any blue imo :)

Thanks for the recommendation. Gonna buy it for my dad for his birthday. Lakey comes into my work all the time to drop off and collect his son so I could probably get him to sign it if I asked nicely!

Read it in a day
Brilliant book, the way City treated him(especially Swales) at the time was shocking, but its also very uplifting the way he turned his life around
Kendall and the weekly drinking sessions are very funny!

i read it on holiday a few months back.....Lakey was at our supporters do and it was a great night....honest and down to earth lad....his book is a great read, a story in itself even without the football.

I am now reading Andy Morrisons book and its well worth buying....big Andy says he could have been a choir boy and the scottish Aled Jones!! FFS I hope there is such a thing as a parallel universe and big andy has forged a career hitting the high notes lol

Read Lakey's book and thought it was absolutely superb. Will always be gutted that I never got to see him play, I missed him by about a year. Would have loved to have seen for myself what a talented player he was.

What a guy he is as well. Never stopped loving City and it's great that at long long last the club has managed to find some role for him. Should have happened years ago.

Paul McCartney singing 'Here Comes The Sun'?

Get a grip Lakey lad, call yourself a music fan!

Started Paul's on Wednesday and will probably finish today - great read
