I have just watched Monday's episode and I thought it was brilliant. Couldn't stop laughing at

You've clearly never been to Uni! I shared a House with a PE Student who had managed to blag a place on the Course because he was good at Sport and could represent the University. I failed my A-Levels yet still got in to a Poly.

It's definitely the right thing to finish a Sitcom before it becomes stale. I cite you Fawlty Towers over Only Fools & Horses. Need I mention The Simpsons?

fawlty towers had at least 1 or 2 more series in it.
 
The reason it's being chopped after this series is because the actors are all too old to play the parts they're portraying. They had a meeting apparently with the writers and production team and decided to jack it in. Watched an interview a few weeks ago when they talked about it.
