Inflation - when is this going to end?

Crikey…

Utter ignorance

It isn't. I lived in Benchill, Wythenshawe for years at my parents. There were families on their road that never worked who drove two cars, were in the pub most days and nights and didn't have a care in the world. Similarly when I joined the navy and came home on leave the same faces were always in the pub and none of them worked. I have no idea how they did it but they did. Now this was in the late seventies/early eighties so benefit rules may be harsher now but trust me those people had a decent life.

I wasn't slagging anybody off who is unemployed. It was more a rant to begin with that it was pointless working in a low paid job if your life was no better than somebody not working. Usually the low paid working two jobs suffer the most. I'm genuinely interested just what do people out of work get now? It can't just just be £350 a month if you rent somewhere as that wouldn't even cover the rent. It may be if you live at home with your parents but otherwise on that amount there would be millions homeless.

People will feel some impact when they switch their heating back on, or when they remortgage, but I think some on here are worse than the media at getting worked up.

I think we’ll have a recession but for most people it won’t be too bad.

For the first time since records began there are now fewer unemployed people than there are job vancancies.

The markets have also rallied since bottoming out in mid June. It’s not all impending doom. If it is, someone better tell the market makers.

If you think about it, if you’re a home owner with a mortgage or any big debt, inflation is paying your debt off nicely for you. Ride out this winter and you might even find yourself in a better place financially.
Unemployment is always a lagging indicator mate and is worse at recession troughs US fed now tightening aggressively and gas prices rose near 8% yesterday
I agree I'm out in Manchester today and all seems fine but I think this is the last hurrah before a long bleak winter

Fucking hell. Are you putting your fingers in your ears and saying blahh?

Responded to a Sky mail shot for Signature @£19 so rang them to accept and thankfully at the end of the call enquired to make sure HD was included ..it wasn't!

So they had mailed us to sell at a reduced price of £19 to incorperate naff output and if we wanted a nice picture it was to be a fiver extra, reduced down from £8.

I laughed .. the Sky man laughed .. the wife laughed .. and then we all popped our phones down together.

For every sausage out there in the heady world of retail ..if you think you can pull fast ones over working class folk by tickling away for a few dollars more .. then you're sadly mistaken.

Holidays overseas are beyond insane levels, so fly your hairyplanes empty.
Hospitality .. shove obcene £7 pints up up your puckered bots .. we shall not be imbibing.
Cat A games, your having a laugh at £68 .. we'll watch on the firestick with a brace of the Bishops finger.
Stand your ground and do not let retail have you over for a fat lad.

You all have a choice in a supply and demand world and I've a sneaky feeling that demand will wain faster as the months progress. Keep your powder dry and only pay fair value:

Zero hour contract likes this.

Yep but that’s the reality.

Also, if you resign from your job you can’t claim anything at all for 6 weeks.

Trust me on this, I’ve been there.

I knew about the resigning from your job thing they've always had a similar rule in place.

So you're living in accomodation, paying at a conservative estimate £400 a month rent and lose your job. You only get £350? No housing benefit, nothing else? That sounds nuts.

This is a party political broadcast for the Conservative party .

Go on entitledto.co.uk and put in as many scenarios as you like, you will be surprised at how shit it actually is.
