Injuries 2025/26 | Kovacic could be ruled out for further 3-4 months (p37)

top news that....although I would be wary of starting or even using these two unless things are going south for us against Monaco on Wednesday evening.
No need to risk them at all, regardless of how it’s going tomorrow. The league is always the priority- and rightly so. And as we saw last season, losing several champ league games still makes little difference to qualifying. Rest them, don’t risk them.

I do hope Khusanov's isn't one of those 'niggles' that turns into months on the sideline which we kept seeing last season.

Great to see Cherki and Rodri training, though.

Khusanov is just an impact injury isn't it? So would presume that isn't the case at least for this injury? Could do wirh him for the counters/long balls that Brentford used against united

I wouldn't risk Rodri for Monaco. Perhaps put him on the bench and bring him on if we really need him or if we are very comfortable. Kova could do with some minutes.

Not sure about Kova. It's a hell of a long time since he's played a full match. It may be Monaco, but it's still CL, and it's important to win these kinds of matches.
I'd be very curious to see Nico G along with NIco O'R in that defensive midfield. That lad has a very good reading of a game. He's quick on the intercept, and doesn't get bullied in the tackle. He can play just about anywhere, short of nets (and maybe, I don't know, he can play there?) It won't happen, but I'd still like to see it.

While I agree with the lengthy absence for Kova it is an opportunity to give Rodri a bit more time off. Nico O'R would be good option if RAN was back in contention.

Thought about, but Nathan Aké seems to be back in contention. He has done sterling service there. Anyway, never in a million years is Pep going to put Nico O'R there.

He suffered meniscus damage as well as an ACL rupture. The meniscus injury will have been repaired at surgery.
Just hope his meniscus repair hasn’t failed.
Fingers and everything else crossed.
He played 3 key games in a week and then Pep rested him for Burnley, now training and apparently available for Monaco, so tbf you got what you wanted, a rest for Rodri?
