Injury Updates

We'll have a different perception in 2-3 weeks when De Bruyne, Aguero and Silva return. We just have to get through 2-3 games first.

I think even with injuries we'll get what we need against Hoffenheim and Everton.

The game that worries me a bit is Leicester - League Cup Q/F. I think they will be well up for that.

The OP is listing Zinchenko as part of the "crisis". I hadn't heard anything about him myself.
I thought at the time he get clobbered by Fernandinho that he had broken his nose. It certainly looked like it but I dont recall seeing any mention of it from the Club. I did see him wearing a mask but he hasn't played since the incident. It could be a worse injury than we thought.

The list of wounded is definitely growing. We do seem to get more than our fair share of muscle/tendon/ligament type injuries. I have no clue why.

Yep, somebody mentioned his nose, I had forgot all about it.

Sure I saw a report somewhere saying Yangel Herrera was back from his loan to New York and available to play. He was apparently very good until he picked up a serious injury which put him out for most of the season.

Anybody know whats up with Danilo ? Didn’t even know he was injured

Gomez has a broken leg, he’s been every bit as good as van Dijk, plus Oxlade and Lallana have been out for most of the season. Lovren has a knock too.
Gomez has just broken his leg, so obviously it hasn't really affected them yet, but he'll be an important loss. But as for the others, it's the equivalent of us having Gundogan and Mahrez injured. Yes it's not great and it affects our ability to rotate, but we could still put out our strongest 11. But we've actually had the best midfielder in the league and our main creative influence out for almost every game, the best striker in the league out for a fair few games, and now probably the player of the year so far out. It'd be the same as them having Salah out all season so far and one other guaranteed starter for an extended period too.

Let's not underestimate how significant this can be. There have definitely been titles won because the winning team had a great record with injuries and their rivals all suffered significant injuries. The problem is that these things can have a knock on effect. De Bruyne and Silva being injured at the same time means it becomes unlikely that Fernandinho is going to get a rest any time soon, which could lead to a greater chance of injury, especially at his age.

With the way Liverpool play, and the fact they rely so heavily on their first team, we all thought that they would be the ones who would have injuries.

Just typical.

We seem to get more than our fair share of injuries. I asked in the Silva thread if the high intensity game we play now is a contributory factor in these muscular, non impact injuries we're getting these past 2 or 3 seasons.
Yes it is. But we we're lucky last season to not have too many go down
