with aguero injured our team should be this

Ederson

Walker - (2 out of the 3 of Stones Dias Laporte) Ake (or Cancello if Ake fit)

rodri

bernardo Kev

Torres Sterling Foden

Mahrez, Gundogan should be nowhere near the team....

Bench to chose from the following:

Doyle
Palmer
Braff (If fit)
THB
Mahrez
Gundogan
anyone else!
everyone keeps making Torres a shoe in yet we have hardly seen the guy, nice goal the other night but means nothing in the grand scheme of things. We are missing someone to put the simple chances created in the net, goals take the pressure off and force defensive minded teams to change tack. A long term replacement for Aguero is overdue, he's not getting any younger.

This is a problem for sure. He may still get fit and bang in 20.

If we had moved to replace him there would have been anger. And we can't really bring in another striker with Jesus and Aguero on the books.

Slods law we lose both strikers at the same time. This is what happened to our defence last season and this is the luck you need.

1.Eddy 2.Walker 3.Ake 4.Laporte 5.Dias 6.Fern 7.Kev 8.Phil 9.Sergio 10.Bernado 11.Sterling is a fantastic team and would walk the league but with the amount of injuries we have it'll never happen. Liverpool have kept the same team every week for 2 1/2 years and that's the big difference

What's anger got to do with anything.?

You don't run successful football clubs on sentiment,

Aguero is one of the greatest players in our history, but his time is nearly over, we should have had his replacement in place this summer.

We are simply not ruthless enough off the pitch, and it shows on the pitch.

I don‘t know about that. We didn‘t create any chances before Foden came on. Let‘s be real if Foden and KDB played from the start maybe Aguero would‘ve played better tho. There‘s no Striker who can create against a 10 men defense and zero creativity behind himself - unless you are prime R9 Or False 9 Messi.

Mahrez should be dropped based om his performances.....torres deseeves a chance to start showing what he can do/ if he can step up

Except they just lost their main centre half for at least 6 minths possibly longer

True words for sure.

What might be hidden to some extent is the inability of the club to be ruthless in the transfer market or an inability to convince the right players to come across.

He had a few misses but Ferguson knew when a players time was up it was one the reasons why he was so successful.

Most players know when their time is up as well and of course if on a lucrative contract no matter their level of performance they want to hang on for as long as possible.

injuries aside and they compound and take longer to recover from as you get older our transfer business has been well below the necessary standard for a long time.

We are suffering for it now , our performances and results will continue to slide unless we get our act together whether that is under Pep or not.

We saw what happened in MP 's last year when we knew it was we scraped into Chumps League on goal difference.

Does anybody want to place good money that we will get 66 points this season?

We are currently on target for 60 and after this weekends results could be one point clear of Brighton (LOL) and they have played Chelsea , Manure and Everton.

Alternatively we win our game in hand then we climb to 4th, 2 points behind the current champions.

We have created chances for the last 18 months, taking them is the issue.

Sterling could score 40 goals a season in this team if he could finish, Mahrez tries to score a worldie with ever touch.

All teams will get major injuries this season, with this stupid and unnecessary schedule.

The titles will be going to the teams that handle the injuries, suspensions and fatigue the best.

And at managing our squad, Pep has to sort himself out. Playing a 32 yr old 3 times in a week after a 4 month injury lay off is suicidal and terrible management.

We have an academy full of talent, it's never used, now is a wonderful opportunity to blood in some of that young talent. Our teams is desperate for pace, enthusiasm and passion, something those young players would bring.

.

Unfortunately Foden aside who had to bide his time many of the other academy outside some game time in Cups and maybe a few minutes at the end of games are only played if the regular squad are injured or suspension ravaged enough to force his hand.

I agree Kun had to managed better and now he is likely to miss weeks and we know he is not fit and struggling to make an impact on any game given how long it takes him to build up that fitness in games.

Our reluctance to find timely ready made replacements for when players like Kun and Ferny and others when they were at their peak levels so the side transitions well is coming home to roost now.

All teams are in the same boat having to deal with covid and injuries in a contracted season and we should have been better placed than most but alas this is not the case.

Complacency has crept in and in football it travels quicker than the virus.

if Khaldoon was honest with the supporters he would acknowledge and others have been asleep at the wheel over the past couple of seasons and left Pep with a substandard squad to maintain the standards previously set.

For Pep to be successful he has to have players capable of buying into and executing the game plan to a tee.

Now we have reverted to a side reminiscent of MP's last season perhaps with less adaptability both tactically and in quality.

Even if Aguero wasn't rushed back because of Jesus's injury, a 32-year old coming back from 4 months out should never have been starting 3 games in a week. Normally a player out for that long would get 20/30 mins or so off the bench for a couple of matches then if there was no reaction start him in the following match.

If you think Aguero's time is up then we have to replace him, i.e. sell him. What notable centre forward would come to City having to get past Aguero and Jesus?

I don't think any City fan is blind to Aguero's age and gradual decline but he could still score plenty this season. City for me are far better when Jesus is fit because our intensity goes up another level and he is so much quicker around the box.

Really? I never new that lol. And they’re no where near as good without him - that was my point! We’ll see he Everton go on without Jamés. We just seem to have injury after injury after injury. And have done for years so there’s something seriously wrong with our training methods.

yes i know everyone will get injuries this season - that was my point - we are no different

I agree he has to start managing his squad - trusting some of the younger players is something he is going to have to do - yet yesterday he chose to partner gundongan and rodri for the second game in a row instead of playing Foden for instance from the start.

Yet they still win - even when they lost him for a couple of games last season - they got a positive result at Bayern without him

The injuries are part of the issue but consistently playing Mahrez who is (and has done for the vast majority of his city career) underperforming - and not giving someone else a go - as well as playing Rodri and gundogan together regualrly is damaging the team

Injuries are not the only issue here and its not an excuse when you have a squad our size with the ammount that has been put into it whether that be from transfers or investment in the youth set up.
