Miller and McLeish was up there with the best at the time.
Gough was great as well.
You couldn't argue if all 3 played before Hansen as they were great defenders as well.

Hansen had the sicknote reputation from the start and that was probably why Alex Ferguson and subsequently Andy Roxburgh eventually lost patience and gave him the bums rush. McLeish and Miller both won 65 caps, as against 26 for Hansen.

Gough was younger that the others and didn't really register that much until he left Dundee United for Spurs in 1986 and then on to Rangers a year later. Hr also fell out with Andy Roxburgh and Craig Brown but still collected 61 caps.

Look at the number of competition successes: Hansen won 3 European Cups to add to his 8 English League titles, 2 FA Cups and 4 League Cups. Miller and McLeish won one European Cup Winners Cup, and plus three Scottish League titles plus 4 Scottish Cups and 3 League Cups.

foden missing time is kind of a big deal. by my accounts last season when he started city only lost two games. brighton and cl final

Wonder if it was a lisfranc injury. I certainly hope not.

I like to think not, given that Foden’s been walking around on it, but it would be entirely consistent with our long history of losing a key player for pretty much an entire season…..Gunders, Laporte, Kev, Leroy, Sergio etc
Yes but did you know the scousers lost VVD last season and that is why they understandably couldn’t defend the league? You may have missed it as it wasn’t very well reported on

KDB out of the arsenal game (and also out of the belgium squad) according to martinez. hopefully has the time to recover fully for when the intl break ends
