We seem to have been jinxed with our central defenders in recent years. The international break and the World Cup might actually help us assuming they don't get crocked on duty in Qatar.

I think the World Cup is massively advantageous to us this season, despite numbers being involved; England will bomb and it’s a South American love in (in terms of going deep), we potentially get a mid season break, ready to kick on in December where we are ruthless

Sadly the reason we got him cheaply, but no good if he spends half a season on the treatment room, defeats the issue of signing him to give Rodri time off.

Clash of heads. Hopefully just concussion but left the field on a stretcher in a head-brace

A bit of good news as the Athletic report today is pretty positive about it: "City sources are relaxed about Phillips’ injury, however, and he will be assessed before they host Crystal Palace on Saturday."

He put a post on Instagram yesterday saying he's fine but his head hurts. Better than it could've been judging by how serious it seemed on Wednesday night.
