Ins and Outs 2022-2023

Interestingly enough, our accounts show we only made a £35m profit on the transfer window. A good reminder that the numbers in the press are not facts.

Yep Ive always maintained any netspend table is related to media links etc which can and will be wrong or slightly off. Not to mention my figures include addons incoming (11.5m for 2022 summer). When I do account graphs etc they are always more accurate as its just the straight financial accounts. I wonder if these include the agent fees as well. £20m to Haaland for example brings that number a lot closer.

Same goes for Profit on player sales and amortisation. For example in the 2021 financial period our amortisation was £146m yet the first team squad was only around £100m if you do it based on contract renewals and media reported transfer fee . So there was another £46m in amortisation missing.

Mendy was a great example we wrote off around £18m in 2021 financial accounts which was his amortisation on a fee of around £56m yet any reported fee was £50m.

Financial accounts >>>> Any netspend table!

The accounts don’t include all transfers they are different time periods

It includes all transfers.
It doesn’t because it doesn’t include the ones after the reporting period hence the difference between the media figures and the figures in the accounts tho there will also be down to people in the media not knowing the full details
