Insanity work-out

I was a runner before I started insanity, and now I'm back running again.

My experience of it is you feel stronger for sure, you get subtle little muscle ripple in random parts of your body, BUT as i said I'm back running now, and insanity definitely made me lose fitness, not gain it. Granted I was carrying a bit more muscle, but not loads, and I just couldn't get anywhere near my previous times. I prefer running.

Right guys and gals, really wanted to share this with you all. I started to get out of shape and really started to get pissed off in the way my body was going. In my earlier days I ran for Lancashire and played football at semi pro level and always in good shape. I met her indoors and as in any other relationship the time training was getting less and less as i wanted to see her. So from training 6 times a week it went down to Monday night football which at first seemed to be ok. I never really noticed a change in my overall appearance but it hit home when I got back home from my holidays and looked at the pictures. I was a bit of a shock to the system and really put things into perception. Did I want to carry on like this or did I want to at 33 do something about it?.

Its weird how it happened and how I got to know about Insanity as I never heard or seen it before. I used to drink about 4 cans a larger a night, which to most is not a lot but gets me merry. anyway after a few largers and falling a sleep feeling sorry for my self I woke up about 1am in the morning in front of the TV and Insanity was on, I think it was Sky Sports 4 the channel was, you know when the programs go off and they replace it with shopping channels. I woke and got hooked straight away it was telling me that its not to late to start to get the body most people want and showing me instances in where people lost loads of weight in 60 days!... Now to me most of the time I watch this type of adverts I think what a load of bull shit, but for some reason this planted a seed in my brain. I recored the advert as it was late at night and went to bed.
A coulpe of days later I re watched the advert again, again I was hooked so i decided to ring the number up. I bought in to it all and purchased the stuff. Now its not cheap, it cost me £200 which included the DVD box set and a rubber mat. But I looked at it this way, its 4 months of gym membership that I have joined in the past but never really been to as I get pissed off with how busy they are when i can go.

Now about insanity, It a 60 day work-out video and it claims that you can see results in 60 days seems impossible, but I promise you it works. It a 30-40 min work out each night at home, my living room is not the biggest and i can do it in that. I started at a weight of 12 stone 3", now and in 5 weeks im down to 10 stone 9" and my body is looking like i was when i was 21. If you do it each night you will see the results.

Heres the add i saw, see what you think......

any questions please ask away.

I've got the discs but to unfit to walk over to the DVD player to put them in...

Insanity is probably the worst possible workout a runner could do. It's designed for short term explosiveness and rest, the complete opposite of what you've conditioned your body to do.

you gotta stick at it man.

I've 2 weeks left. Down under the 14 stone mark now and feeling great. It's a bloody killer though.

Don't worry about that I'll be sticking with it alright... What are your plans after you finish the programme?

I've one week left.Gonna take two weeks to just do light routines, then doing the first month again. I won't do the second one again. After that I'm gonna go all in at p90x. I feel great getting to this point but there are days my body is like jelly.

Just finished T-25 A, B and G. Giving blood next week so will be starting P90x3 2 weeks Monday.

How did you find T-25? I have done Insanity twice and just recently come back off holiday and need to start my fitness again. I'm going to tryT 25 mixed with both Cardio and Weights on alternative nights

I liked it - first week was a struggle (as you would expect lol) It did it's job

Waist -7.5
Biceps +1
Thighs -0.5
Chest +2
Weight -29.5LBs

so can't omplain or even complain.

Week 3 complete. Body is seriously transforming. Can't wait to see the results at the end!

Might have a bash at T25 after Insanity

After Insanity I definitely got more muscle definition especially on the upper body but the diet side of it let me down hence still a bit of flab around the mid section. I just need to go that extra yard with my diet as my fitness work is spot on. Working away is hard work, when staying in hotels and trying to eat healthy. Most lads are in the bar every night and go for currys, pizza's etc.. I have become a bit of a recluse to avoid all this stuff but I go out at least one night with them just to be sociable. Then getting home at weekend I just eat crap and have a few beers.

I need a decent nutrition programme to follow which is realistic. Has anyone got any tips or a certain programme they follow? not including the Insanity's own diet plan.

I've been sticking to the diet strictly however at weekend having a day where I eat what I want and have a couple of drinks.

I'm eating 5 meals a day as recommended by the nutrition guide.
For breakfast I'll have porridge with skimmed milk, fruit and fat free yoghurt .

Mid morning I'll have a chicken salad wrap on brown tortilla.

Lunch time I'll have a tuna salad pasta (brown pasta) or tuna and some sweet potato.

Mid afternoon I'll have a protein shake and banana pre workout.

Evening meal is usually meat and veggies or sometimes I'll make an omelette.

I was working away recently and ate steak each night. I requested veggies instead of chips and onion rings!

Cheers for the that. I'm going to have to get a grip and work out a diet plan of my own and get some momentum in eating healthy , correct nutrition is half the battle.
