Inter (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Italian champions and champion league finalists 2 seasons ago. They are no mugs. A decent result for us and a game probably far better for us in the long run than thrashing some second rate European team.

Only thing that was bad tonight was the home kit

Think we were happy to not over exert our energy knowing that there are many opportunities to get out of this group and with Arsenal coming up I wasn’t surprised to see how it panned out.
Had they scored we may have come out of our shell but overall I reckon they will be content with the draw.
Dull at fuck at times to watch though. I guess this is what happens when you already have to manage the season after a handful of games.

A lot won’t have it, but every ball is safety first. He just doesn’t make anything happen for me.
That and him having two touches to get the ball under control, and another whilst he works out who to pass it to.

Manages to find pockets of space against the lesser sides, but he's majorly out of his depth in that role playing against the top sides.

Take a point because we were turd for the most part. Inter are a very good side.

Everything was so slow and meh. Even on the few occasions we had to break quick, we seemed determined to slow it down.

I don’t ever want to see a wide pairing of Bernie and Grealish again. I’d love to know the thought process behind having two wide forwards, who rarely score or assist, alongside a forward who needs others to create for him.

Gvardiol easily our MOTM. Not too many others stood out for us.
Building on your Grealish/Bernardo point: not only are they not productive from wide, they both come inside and make us narrower against a packed defence. You could see the difference that came from Doku being happy to go on the outside and put a cross in

Especially baffling to have Bernardo wide right with Rico underlapping instead of going outside. Just so congested

Great defensive display by them

We looked a little leggy and off the pace but it wasnt a bad performance by us...just that they defended extremely well and were very disciplined. They are a top team.

hope the injury to KDB aint serious and he can play at weekend.

The only concern for me is that we again look more vulnerable to the counter attack this season- more so than the last couple of seasons.

Pep really needs to figure out how to play against packed defences, we look clueless and too slow
Employing a competent set piece coach would be a good start. In the last week we have seen Arsenal and Dippers win thanks to set pieces, we are miles behind them in this. Not a single corner at either end was won by us, our free kicks as bad and almost conceded from our own throw in

Too many safe passes.
Too many touches.
Too many players hiding.
Too slow.

When we play against teams that are here clearly to play anti football, playing as safe and slow as we do gives them even more time to get back in and get organised.

That kit is awful as well..

Hopefully we don't see teams hanging on for a draw from the first minute in all our champions league games.

Take a point and move on to Sunday where we will see the real City!!
Not every team has Inter's quality so I'm not worried yet.

Felt like we never really got going. Take it as a point, probably our toughest game out of the way.

They're a very good side Inter and they'll be there or thereabouts around the knockouts, we didn't lose and we can move onto Sunday, midfield needs more stability though.

Simon Stone on BBC saying they are garbage and it will be a massive upset if they get anything. The champions of Italy with a huge talented squad who pushed us all the way in the CL final not so long ago
They won the Italian League by 19 points. Easily one of the best sides in Europe. Probably the best defence in Europe. The level of ignorance among some pundits is staggering,
