Inter Milan (N) | Champions League Final | Post Match Thread

Very interesting stat…

4

For the last four straight European Cup finals, the scoreline has been 1-0. That's the longest such streak since 1978-83 (6). In fact, the team that opened the scoring in the last 9 UCL finals has won the title - the last team to score first and not win was Atletico Madrid in 2014.

Well, maybe City didn't perform at it's best exactly because Inter played a good game, don't you think? Football is played by two teams, the performance of one team is influenced by the other. You are the same team that destroyed Real Madrid 4-0, Bayern Munchen 3-0, Leipzig 7-0, so maybe if you only won 1-0 tonight it's because we played better than those other teams...
I wouldn't say "better" so much as you played more ~effectively~ to stop City playing their football. Playing anti-football (there was definitely plenty of rolling around feigning injury and attempts to disrupt play) is not that much to be proud of. That said, your team's effort level in pressing was very impressive.

Add to that, our players were struggling due to nerves, disrupted rhythm at the end of the season and many just being on their last legs physically due to a season of almost unimaginable effort required -- added up to a much more difficult match than we would have preferred.

We are the worthiest champions, however. Beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Cannot stop looking at the picture of Grealish with the sun roof. It's hilarious.

It properly kicks in about 1 minute from the stsrt...then jack gees them up after about 2 minutes....its brilliant.

Edit about 1minute 25 that little kid behind Haaland sticking his tongue out then the little kiddie on Phil fodens shoulders later. So funny.
