The thing with Inter is you only have about 30 mins within which to beat them, as the other 60 are a constant stream of disruptions. In a 30 minute match, anything can happen.
30 minutes will be enough to put the game to bed,…… if we get there!!!!

Luck of the draw.
This last couple of years the draw has produced two very skewed sides. If City and dare I say Chelsea had been on the other side they would now be in a final. Last year Liverpool had Inter, Benfica and Villareal in the knockout stages.

Perhaps it is about time some sort of seeding is done before the comp starts which could be used to split the sides when it comes to the knockout stages.

I prefer it this way. It allows the likes of Lukaku, Mkhitaryan and Dzeko have a feel of the CL final. The group stages are now more interesting after the Pot 1 went to the champions.

Really poor quality. Shame the ref allowed all the diving. It should have had some bite being a derby but both teams just rolled around. Inter the deserved winners, and a very good cup team. Got through a tough group and are now in the final. They've won the italian supercup, they're in the final of the coppa italia...tough team to play in cup competitions.

Having said that, they've had a pretty easy run to the final which has helped. We should be beating them if we get through. They're similar to Newcastle for me. Solid tactically, threat on the break and from set pieces but ultimately not as good as we are, and probably not as good as Newcastle either.

I tend to agree with you, and yes you would have bigger chances. But I'm sure we'd be a bigger challenge than Newcastle, our team seems to be built for Cups, and we would have a push from the environment around us that Newcastle wouldn't have. We are also more historically used to these kinds of games and Italian teams can be traditionally very tough to beat.

For what it matters, we have gone for almost 400 consecutive minutes without conceeding a goal against Milan (who aren't so good, but still scored against Napoli three games in a row, also with a 4 - 0 away win once), and we have had 8 clean sheets this season in the CL (the record in the competition is 9).

I'm not comparing you in size and stature, just in terms of how you play and how difficult it would be. I actually think Newcastle would beat you in a two leg game for what it's worth!

You've been excellent in the cups, have found some form in the league and have been very good defensively so far. But Bayern had only conceded twice in 8 CL games before we put three past them.

No final is easy, but if we get through we'll be strong favourites. Equally, I'm sure you'd much rather play us than Real Madrid!

Thank you for your reply :) Yes, of course you'd be strong favourites.
As for who we'd rather play against, there are two lines of thought amongst Inter fans, and they are more or less equally represented:
1. Some would prefer to face Real Madrid, and claim they have a good feeling about it. After all, they say, even if stronger than us, they are not as strong as Man City and they don't have a player like Haaland. Inter also won their first CL in 1963/1964 against Madrid, which to some would supposedly be a good sign. They also have Ancelotti who is a former Milan coach, and they want to beat him.

2. Some would prefer to face City, and claim that even if they are a stronger team, "Madrid does not lose finals". Some even question what refereeing would be like in case of a Inter - Madrid final (you get what I mean). On top of that, Ancelotti has more experience and knowledge on italian teams, and he is less likely to underrate Inter (given the history between Ancelotti and Inter, in Milan but in Chelsea too).

All in all, both would be terrible to play against for Inter. Before the semifinals' first leg I'd have said I'd have rather met Madrid ... now I am more inclined to favour meeting City, only because if it is Madrid that means meeting a team who could beat City at Eithad and that'd sound scary.

Inter fans are also curious about playing in Ataturk, the stadium that saw the incredible Liverpool 3 - 3 Milan in 2005. To some that's a good sign, to some others it's a bad sign.
We are incredibly scaramantic/superstitious and try to look to the past for answers lol

All of Italy will support City/Madrid except Inter fans in the final, Inter is the most hated team in Italy according to polls.
