ive just seen that gareth southgate has not called liverpool players? no trent in england squad? rested as he must need it under pretext that he is out of form as if sterling isnt out of form. if anything sterling is more out of form than trent and gareth had more options there as well. same for united players i see. no wan bisaka as well.

Imo if you've Southgate's options you don't call up both Walker and Wank Biscuits to the same squad, they're too similar in style although Walker is the superior footballer. So it was a straight choice between Trippier and Alexander-Arnold.

Who do you call up from Liverpool? TAA hasn’t been great this year and Milner is collecting his pension in a year or two.

Algeria have already qualified for ACON and Mahrez would have to quarantine so he isn't going afaik. Ake didn't make the provisional squad for Netherlands on the 8th (below) so he won't be in the final one.

Going off the player performance forum, it's the wrong half of the squad (bar Sterling) ;)
