As per now, PL players like Gundo or Werner couldn't play due quarantine rules, which will be reviewed on Wednesday by RKI in Berlin. I expect no changes and PL players won't be included.

There is a feeling of complacency in the community. Not many people use the contact tracing app. And some stores do not cater for people who do not have the app. Passengers on public transport are supposed to wear masks but I regularly see Inter-City buses passing through Paeroa where passengers have removed their masks. As long as that continues, and the virus sneaks into the community because of "flaws" in the testing of border workers (airport, ports and quarantine facilities) we will get snap lock downs because our Prime Minister is overly cautious.LOL.
btw I am not a fan of lockdowns and they should only be used as a last resort but NZ has handled the health situation well throughout 2020.
I hope they don't get into the habit of locking down cities even for a short period of time every time their is a community case.
Based on past experience it looks like they will which indicates they don't have much faith in their quarantine and contract tracing arrangements as in the case in OZ bar NSW.

But we are one of the few countries where crowds are allowed into sporting venues - most of the time.
On a personal note my wife and I are annoyed at the travel restrictions as we want to see our family and grandchildren in Pakenham without having to pay heaps of money on our return to NZ to go into managed quarantine for 14 days.(Costs over $5,000).

Overly cautious is putting it mildly and these lockdowns places enormous pressure on business and livelihoods for little benefit on the health front.
Fair enough if you are running at scores of new cases a day albeit the risk of serious illness is around 0.4 per cent to the average citizen.
I hope that the vulnerable and those at highest risk of contracting it have been vaccinated by now as the chance of getting seriously ill in the vast majority of NZ is now less than being run over by a car.
Not sure when the city was locked down for days when a car went array in Auckland's history.
