Yes we beat Spain I watched it. Are we a good team? No. Will we be a good team? I hope so but we need 4 or 5 players from somewhere to step up. If we played a tournament next week barring a flukey smash and grab we get knocked out. We might even get beat by a poor team.

The fodder I was referring to are the World Cup and Euro qualifiers we go through. This discussion has been had before England’s record against good teams in tournament matches isn’t bad it’s woeful. We are probably the most under performing team in international football for a very very long time. Does a smash and grab against Spain in one match change this? No.

Watching David De Gea playing in a possession based team is hilarious tbh. His passing is appalling and he spent the entire first half hiding on his goal line, making it impossible for his defence to keep a high line without leaving an ocean of space for us in behind. Then clearly someone had a word at half time, so he spent the entire second half suicidally charging out and getting nowhere near the ball on balls his defenders had easily covered.
