Invasion of Germany

A thought:

The lads are playing Bayern in the UEFA Youth League next Tuesday.

Kick-off at 14.00 local time, game being played in the Grünwalder Stadion (where Bayern and 1860's second teams play). Easy to get to, just 7 or 8 minutes from the Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) on U-Bahn Line U1, getting off at Wettersteinplatz. The stadium is just down the main road (about 150 metres). Plenty of bars, restaurants in the area too.

Anybody up for it? The lads need a draw at least to get through the group.

Let's see if I can convince Mrs. raininspain to watch two games on the same day! Wish me luck!

No problems with having a beer, I would have thought. If you've had enough of sausages, there's a great Indian Restaurant (Manzil) just by where you come out of the U-Bahn on Wettersteinplatz: http://manzil-muenchen.com/#/

If you want to go along to 1860's training complex, it's just a couple of tram stops down the road from Wettersteinplatz (opposite way to the stadium). They have a great club shop, selling loads of sky blue shirts (I've got two!) and a lovely little bar right next to where 1860 train.

Just to bring the tone of the thread down a little bit............. are the best Christmas Markets the ones around the Marienplatz or are there others as well please? I want to get a couple of presents whilst I am over there and as I am on Spike's day trip I won't have a lot of time to shop. Thank you. Sorry for dragging it down to mundane. :-)

There's another 1860 shop in Orleandostrasse, just off the Marienplatz.

-- Tue Dec 03, 2013 12:57 pm --

Head for the Marienplatz! The square itself has loads of Christmas Market stalls, and so do most of the adjoining streets. Head to the Viktuaklienmarkt http://www.muenchen.de/int/en/shopping/ ... markt.html, just round the corner, for some authentic places.
