So to sum up, some people like apple, some don't. Everyone needs the chill the fuck out. For the record I love my MacBook pro, iPad and iPhone. ;)

Ha ha ha, those were the days. Snake 2 blew my socks off!

They prefer to dig round the bargain bins for things that are cheaper but "do the same job as Apple".
They don't mind that they spend countless days tweaking and tinkering to get it to do the same thing that Apple products do just by switching them on. Got to do something when you are on the dole!
Even when the thing crashes and loses their poor persons data, they don't mind.....the thought they saved money keeps them happy inside.
It's the same with their none Apple APPs. They must love looking at the frozen screens, as it reminds them of those paintings rich people have hanging on their homes.
It also doesn't bother them when a APP doesn't close properly and drains the battery.
Oh the fun they have recharging the phone......highlight of their poverty stricken day.
Then comes the boasting how they have saved the mighty 59p by having an android phone.
Stopped those greedy developers eating that day eh?
And how much better the specs are. Poor fools don't realize that no phone lens on the planet can resolve greater that 5/6 megs, and only means poor low light response and stupidly large files sizes. But biggers better right?
And then there's the type who just gets bored and wants something different.
They should avoid the iPhone, because it is soooo boring.
I mean, you just use the thing, and everything is easy to find and figure out.
You just know you need animated "Tiles" whilst the phone is in your pocket right?
Everybody knows a battery is for using, so anything that's depletes it quicker has to be a good thing.
Ok joking aside!
It occurs to me the only people who don't like Apple haven't really used the products.
Yes they are restrictive, and yes they are expensive. Yes you can get better specs for less money.
But what you do get is stability, and something that just works.....all day every day.
It is the little things that make a difference. I hated browsing the web on a phone until i tried the iPhones "pinch/squeeze flick up/down" thing....brilliant. (now every phone uses it)
Then there is MobileMe. Tried all sorts of programs/phones to get all my contacts/calendars/data to share between home and the wife's phone.
Some would work for a while, then I would have to spend days trying to fix and resync things.
With MobileMe, it all just worked and has ever since.
The Apple App store IS leading the way. Apple restrictiveness is actually a strength here.
Because money actually gets back to the developers instead of the pirates, more Apps are getting made.
Also with the testing required, they tend to have less bugs and work better too.
At the end of the day it all comes down to time versus money.
Apple care is second to none. Try getting Sony to even admit their products have a problem let alone getting them to fix it.
Apple looks expensive until you add up how much time reliable software/hardware saves you.
I have lost weeks tracking down software problems in the past.
Forgetting the valuable time, the frustration saved is priceless.
So peasants, say you will avoid Apple products if you want, but we all know it's because you are poor and cannot afford it really!...;)
Ps
Thank you Apple for bringing out iOS 5 and making MobileMe free.
Just got my email informing me of my free period until the new software is released. (saves me £89 a year!)
Do you wank over photos of Steve Jobs?
....behave and go have a beer or something :(

Want me to book you and Damo a room?(not allowed to use smilies remember)
Best post ever? I wouldn't like to see what you've been reading!
I don't think you get it.
I avoided Apple for years. Then they started making things I might actually use.
I hate some of the things that Apple does, and I think some of there restrictions are just stupid.
You can throw all the catch lines you want like 50% of my Internet browsing will be lost.
So you think 50% of website use flash?...ok. ( see you have now edited it out of your post)
I don't own a Mac computer/laptop because I don't think they add anything to what I want a computer to do.
I haven't been drawn to the iPhone and the iPad by slick marketing, rather by the incompetence of the competing products.
When my mate first got the iPhone 2g, I didn't rate it.
I was convinced other smartnphones were better.
I went through quite a few, and nothing really worked as they should.
This all changed when he eventually got a 3GS. I was struggling with a windows mobile phone. I nearly smashed it up one day when it froze when in my pocket and I missed some important calls.
I was Sat at the match, when he pulls up the SKY Sports App.
I had also loaded the MS version. Where as his screen looked great and browsing was simple. My screen was tiny, and using the thumb button just didn't have the same experience. The App eventually crashed.
I hated to admit it, but thought he finally had a good phone.
I did my research when upgrade time came, I got a 3GS.
I have never looked back since. So have most of my mates.
People can use terms like a "idiot" for getting one if they want.
You can say I use paying a pittance for a good App as a badge of honour if you want.
But even you admit the Android market needs to get it's act together, yet you still rate it higher.
IF it does get it's act together, and the crap is cut out, I would be interested.
But as it stands TODAY, I think I made the right choice.
BulgarianPride said:Android is pretty new, yet it does everything a 4 year ( or more ) OS does, and it does it better. Like Damo said, Android is Java based and all the apps are built with Java. What this means for the consumer? Better, faster and more secure apps. Give it time and Android will surpass anything iOS does. Android is also not limited to one device. You have great companies like Motorola using android on their good hardware and that complements very nicely.
This freedom allows the developer to make one app and be able to easily modify to work on other phones and different platforms that use Android. If you have an iphone app you would need to recreate it to work on a phone that is not an iphone.
Finally in Android there is not hate towards Flash. Android is the Linux of mobile platforms and the future is bright. Keep your slowly dieing backwards products.
Can someone explain the difference between iPhone 1, 2G , 3GS and 4?

Ok, I'll ignore the inanity of all of that because you said you were joking. Now I'm going to tell you why everything else you have just said is rubbish.
It occurs to me the only people who don't like Apple haven't really used the products.
Really? I've owned an Apple product since about 1989. That includes everything from an Apple IIgs all the way through to 2008 when I gave up with them. I had the pre-Intel Macs, developed on every system from Cheetah onwards and have extensively used iPhones, iPods and iMacs.
Yes they are restrictive, and yes they are expensive. Yes you can get better specs for less money.

My Windows 7 installation works ALL of the time. So does my Linux install. I don't have to do any fiddling about. I don't think I've ever done anything with my MP3 player apart from plug it straight into my computer, transfer music onto it and press the play button. My phone has never broken, never fails to do what I want.
It is the little things that make a difference. I hated browsing the web on a phone until i tried the iPhones "pinch/squeeze flick up/down" thing....brilliant. (now every phone uses it)
Yes, they nicked that from Microsoft Surface, which was doing it about 5 years earlier.
Then there is MobileMe. Tried all sorts of programs/phones to get all my contacts/calendars/data to share between home and the wife's phone.
Some would work for a while, then I would have to spend days trying to fix and resync things.

Eh? So you're surprised that an APPLE PROGRAM is better at synching data from APPLE PROGRAMS than PROGRAMS NOT MADE BY APPLE when Apple refuses to make an API available?
The Apple App store IS leading the way. Apple restrictiveness is actually a strength here.

This is so laughable than I'm going to mainly ignore it, you've just shown that you don't know what you're talking about. I'm a developer, I've first hand experience with the App Store; you're blatantly wrong. The one thing that I will say, is that LESS developers are developing apps year on year as Andriod increases market penetration. When Microsoft finally bothers to announce that they've bought Nokia, this will slip far lower as Symbian is replaced by Windows Phone. Go and ask jwz about Apple's App Store.
At the end of the day it all comes down to time versus money.
Not really, I work seven days a week and make a damn good living. I'm still not buying Apple products because they are badly engineered rubbish that is done better by other companies.
Apple care is second to none. Try getting Sony to even admit their products have a problem let alone getting them to fix it.

The funny thing is, you keep winking and everything but we're aware that this is what you actually believe. I'm nowhere near poor, am always extremely busy and still don't want an Apple. This is mainly because I'm not an idiot and don't believe in throwing money at shit.
Ps
Thank you Apple for bringing out iOS 5 and making MobileMe free.

They are now not charging you for something that others have implemented better for free previously. Well done.
fulabeer said:Damo, why do you even bother to post in this thread?
You don't like Apple...fine. We get it.
Are you this arrogant in real life? Or is it because you are a moderator you feel you can just insult people and get away with it?
I come across people like you all the time on the web.
You are very opinionated and with it quite rude.
If you are more qualified about a certain subject than me, then fine.
I'm sure I'm much more qualified than you on plenty of subjects.
The difference being I wouldn't be so arrogant about it.
I can only give an opinion based on what I know, and how I feel about it.
It's a honest opinion with no agenda or bias. It may not be correct, but it's still my opinion.
The same cannot be said about you and your comments. I'm happy with something, yet you feel this gives you license to insult and say I'm a fanboy? I just don't get your anger.
You would do people a real favour if you stopped assuming somebodies knowledge level, and give it a rest telling people how to feel about something.
Just because something is technically better, doesn't automatically make it a better product...end of!
