Looking at mine i've dropped it at least 4 times, no problems and works fine no cracks

Strange how everyone's experience can be different. I dropped my 4S maybe once or twice and it didn't even fall from a great height but the result is that the glass back has a huge crack from top to bottom now.

I also have two big scratches on the screen and have no idea how that could have happened.
I dropped it on the pavement 2 days after I got it

It was a proper cartoon drop, it squirted out of my hand I tried to catch it but made it go higher, dropped from just above my head so a drop of about 6ft

I prefer the iPhone as the build quality is far superior to any of the the equivalents I have seen and the size suits me too, the S3 and others are far too big in imo. Not seen the 5 so can not comment on the size as yet. Missus has the SIII which is a very good phone but still prefer my IP4. I Jailbreak my iphone so the limitation on IOS is simply not there, plus everything is free.

Must say though that the lack of difference in the IP5 from the IP4 has not really made me think I want/need an upgrade. Probably will when my contract is up and the price has come down.
You drop the iphone 4 once and it's fucked.

Dropped mine twice onto a quarry tiled floor, no damage. Was in a silicone case which obviously helped.

That's simply not true as I've had mine 27 months and dropped the fuck out of it on account of being a clumsy piss head.

Thats because it landed on your cushiony soft 5" thick shagpile! :-)

Cracking the screen is mostly a womans thing as they are so clumsy its untrue. Had an arguement with the sis in law about the overall cost of her iphone 4s since she bought it. Over two years she`s nearly spent £1k on it including buying the phone on contract and smashing it 3 times. Another friend of ours got hers via her new company about 5 months ago and has already smashed it etc etc..show me a woman with an iphone and it will have been smashed at some point. If your a man owning one and have smashed it..your a woman!
I've had my iPhone 4 nearly two years and had the screen or back replaced 4 times at least. And I only didn't have a cover the first time. One of the times I shattered it was when Sergio scored against qpr. I almost kept it for posterity.

Only had it done this week because the screen became illegible. I'd had a crack in it for about a month and the pressure had goosed it.

Still getting the new one though. I need a better cover I guess.

It's a shame that the Lumia 920 looks set to be exclusive to Everything Everywhere (or EE as they call themselves now), I really love the look of that phone, never had a Windows phone though.

Only for 3 months mate. Then it will be available to all carriers. Dont think the 820 is though so that could be a possiblity for you?

The 920 is a great phone. Better and bigger screen than the new iphone including the fact that you can use it with gloves on!
Wireless charging! It will be the smartphone norm soon.
NFC.Not only quicker for matching your phone to various wireless devices but also for paying for stuff which will be the norm soon to. I suspect Apple are developing there own version so they can get a share of the profits!
Customizable home screen with live tiles. Not the same old boring iphone squares sat there.
Nokia maps which have AR function built in.Free offline maps for the UK and Europe/ROW. Apple maps will only support a small part of this function in the UK.
The iphone5 is a great phone but its nothing we haven`t seen before and now the playing field a lot leveller. Like someone said Apple are too busy suing everyone to concentrate on making something totally spectacular.

920 + 820 available from around Nov 2nd. Shame Nokia couldn`t get them to launch sooner. Something Apple is good at. Mind you it helps having a thousand chinese workers sweating away 24hrs a day building it.

On the subject of cracking the screen I've got an old 3gs knocking about somewhere with a cracked screen, I plan to start using it with a giff gaff sim card, how much are the screens usually to replace? A shop near me has said £35, is that about right?
