SKY GO via a VPN doesn't always work.
I (used to) visit US a lot. When i'm there, i hanker for Uk TV. So although i have a legit SKY GO account and use a UK VPN, SKY somehow knows.
I've learnt they use other verification methods.
Any Apple type device tells the app where you are. They also use a devices location and time settings. Then they have a list of known VPN servers.
Winscribe have a few special servers to use with Netflix that can also work with SKY GO.

Depressingly useful to know that.

I’ve never had that and I’m solely an Apple user nowadays. I’ve had it not work on vpn but then if I change the server it works (mainly been using Nord).

Last visit i managed to get it working on a Firestick and used the Windscribe server named NetflixUK and it worked.
I think as SKY blocks it, the VPN people come up with new ways around it.
I've just cancelled a Vegas trip for March next year. Won't be going until the Trump shit show ends.

I watch sky, itv, BT, tnt etc through Apollo tv on a firestick. No vpn
I too can do the same BUT if you want to watch say, BBC iPlayer, ITVX or C4/5 on their apps when abroad then you need a VPN. I have a "fully loaded" stick but if I want to watch a recent BBC programme then it has to be via the iPlayer app and Nord comes into its' own.

I'm in Canada and I can't watch BBC iplayer no matter what I do. I try every year to watch some of the Glastonbury stuff but nothing ever works.
I have tried using a few different vpn's but it just seems to know where I am.

Strange. I use Nord and it is pretty good. The occasional time I get an error message but I just reconnect the VPN and it’s usually ok.

I'm in a hotel in the Middle East and have brought my firestick to watch the forest game on Saturday but can’t get anywhere near the tv's hdmi port and it’s not being shown in the hotel :-(

I had that a couple of years ago. I got reception to send someone to take it off it's bracket while I plugged everything in.

The bar in the hotel that said they were not showing the city game were showing cov v sto on all screens when I walked in on Bein 2. I told them that the city game was also on bein so they have put it on half the screens.

There is no commentary as the bar is playing loud music but my god how bloated are Keys and Gray. Not seen them for about 2 years

The good news us that i am here at happy hour so only circa £7.50 a pint

It being the Middle East I assume that’s a pint of Pepsi.
