No I don't think we should have attacked Iraq further, the whole point of my threads is that it is always us attacking someone and I am sick of it. We were in the thick of the conflicts after the break up of Yugoslavia, we are still in Afghanistan, we are all over the Middle East. Can we not let someone else do the fighting ? The invasion of Kuwait was wrong on every level but why do we have to pretend we are the worlds policeman, well second in command to the Yanks.

Yes the Yanks did all that but it took until Maggie Thatchers time to pay them back. Whilst us and the rest of Europe was giving money and aid to the Germans we were still paying off our debts for helping free Europe from a madman. Hardly seems fair !

It was Blair's government finished paying our debt to the Yanks I believe, the Americans gave aid to the Germans as well as us post WW2 as thanks to the Germans most of Europe was wrecked and near bankrupt.You can't blame them for making money out of it, it was a gamble for them that paid off had we folded can't see Herr Hitler opening the cheque book to settle up on our behalf.

Why did I know you were going to pick on the transfer of 50 obsolescent destroyers to the Royal Navy for lease of bases, it was symbolic what were they going to do give us brand new ones, I feel it's you who are a tad ill informed do you think Britain and Russia would have survived against Germany without American aid.

They're not my mates, there again I don't let bigotry over ride the facts either to keep going on about 50 obsolete destroyers that Roosevelt used as a symbolic gesture while ignoring the amount of lend lease assistance Britain and its allies received is laughable.
