I never said it was “backwards” nor “under-developed”, I said it’s younger than Christianity and is going through a similar process as Christianity did previously. I mean you could argue it is “backwards” and “undeveloped” in areas, as you could in areas in all religions but you don’t strike me as someone who cares about detail.

When you look at what has been done in the name of Christianity, in the West, in the 20th century and the many centuries before it, and then you look at Islam, it’s easy to see that a large problem currently is Islam’s relative infancy when compared to Christianity.

Several posters across the political spectrum have agreed with this, even the poster I had a disagreement with initially. It’s only you that hasn’t and has chosen to become fabulously offended at a reasonable opinion.

Now I know, as well as many on this forum now, that your level of knowledge in Anthropology is well below average, but surely it’s obvious to even you that religions go through different stages and some, that are younger, tend to go through difficult periods of power struggles?

That’s not saying Muslims are intrinsically bad people or dangerous, it’s pointing out the obvious of contributing factors to a volatile region of the world, the Middle East.

It’s weird, given your final few lines, that you are incredibly comfortable in generalising Christianity to its worst, but then act as though someone has said something abhorrently racist, when someone merely points out certain problems with Islam.

Well I’ve just said that Islam is going through similar problems to what Christianity did in previous centuries, due to it being younger, to add a point to the thread as to the problems in the Middle East and I’ve practically been called a bigot, accused of being a Christian and had about 100 words put in my mouth I simply didn’t post.
