He should be promised a new deal at the end of the season,of at least £50-60k a week IMO.

Johnson and Richards earn a lot more than Ireland, they're both on £50k a week according to reports. He's on nothing like that. If Sturridge gets the contract he's after he too will earn a lot more than Ireland.

He's been here all his playing career, genuinely loves the club and his family are settled, I think thats coming to the fore in his playing at present. Ive lost count of the times he's said to me "I feel sorry for our fans" the lad is a genuine as they come.

Even without the consistency last season, he put in some outstanding performances. Namely, MoTM at the swamp derby.
No way should the club begin taking him for granted. A real pleasure to watch. New pay deal time!

Stephen Ireland is a credit to himself and CITY. He's proof that not all footballers are nob heads and he's shown his willingness this season ON the pitch, where he's been our best player all season in a squad that includes Robinho, and also off the pitch where he's matured into a colourful yet down to earth guy.
Basically he's the man who all our new youngsters should look to emulate in every possible way.
We should use him as a fucking statement of intent, tell Arsenal and the scousers to do one and reward Stevie's contribution to our squad by showing him how much he is wanted at COMS.
The though of us off loading him upsets and pisses me off.
