Ireland is the player we need at this club.

For all the critics out there - just stop and think. He is 24 and young enough to fix whatever held him back last year.

Lets hang fire about writing him off too soon and wait till the end of the next season to evaluate whether he has the ability to raise his game and consistency.

With the new recruits, I'm sure Ireland would thrive around them.

Of all the players that might be surplace to requirements, I would give Ireland a final season.

When we look back to the days when he was the only player in the squad who could pass a ball it really would be sad to boot him out the door so quickly.

We know last year was a poor year for him but we've all seen him play wonderful football and it would be sad to not allow him one last chance this year.

It'll be very foolish to show Stevie the door at this moment. From an absolutely brilliant season to a very flat and deflated one, hopefully this time around he'll be back to his form from 2 years ago. If not and he fluffs it up, well......
