Ireland Leaving - Absolute Disaster

Great pass created our best chance. Tevez unlucky not to score from it. We lost it after he went off. How Barry keeps his place I'll never know. Useless luxury player.

Injured or no, he didn't exactly show anyone why he should stay here, did he?

Although to be fair, who did?

he was poor but then again thats nothing knew hes been poor this season

just what is going on in his mind :/

He left ten minutes before the final whistle with a precautionary plastic cast on his right leg which he was walking on.

He may have had a knock to his ankle but he looked out of sorts tonight.

Got a friend who's mates with Stevie - Both go out for dinner together, got each other's BBM etc. Stevie has said to hm he's not happy with the current manager and whilst he loves city, the scum is his dream club. Read into it what you will x

hahaha sad twat

That's bollocks!
I have my own, much closer sources who told me only today that he doesn't actually want to go there, it's all speculation.

Just had a coffee with a very good contact on the agent side. I can't give any more info but he's been very reliable in the past.

Steven Ireland is 99% likely to leave City in the summer. The interested parties at the moment are three of the traditional top four. All three want him subject to transfer fee. He was also guest of honour at one of Europe's top clubs two weeks ago.

The reason he wants to leave is simple - the way he has been overlooked and treated by City this season, particularly by our current manager.

If - I am actually told it is now a "when", but there has to be some hope - he leaves to join one of our rivals I will be absolutely devastated. No, I will be angry. It would be the worst "out" transfer I can ever remember. Yes, it was sad to see the back of Francis, Stewart and Kinkladze amongst others but these were all for money.

This will not be for financial reasons. It will come back to haunt us. The clubs who want him will use him properly. Imagine him running United's midfield against us. It will be like seeing your wife sucking another man's member.

I will be furious to see him leave. He's one of the best natural talents at the club. I can predict the thread already - "blah blah he's been shit this year" from all the numpties.

Well fuck you if you want Patrick Vieira in our team/squad ahead of Stevie Ireland.

I'm gutted about this.

he really is a good player but you know what,he has been terrible in this season!

he could help himself by pulling his finger out
when he does come on, been playing shit for some time now

Much as I like him and would love to see him to run our midfield he does seem to have been a one season player. He was by far our star man last season but prior to that in his City career he'd been average at best and this season has not shown much to be fair.

I doubt he's going to be good/consistent enough to stay on the rollercoaster.

Apart from about 20 games last season, overall, I've found him to be an average player in his 6 or so year career do far!

Some good close control, some nice finishes for goals, some nice passes to set up goals! but no pace, no strength, lazy at finding space to be passed the ball in, when he's not playing well he's a hands on hips shake the head and head down player!

He's come through our academy which is why I think we should keep him in our squad, but to be honest he hasn't deserved his place in the team at times this season and I think if he leaves there are 20-30 better players than him we can sign (there was a thread at the end of last season saying something like "Ireland - best midfielder in Europe". needless to say there were lists and lists of players in post after post who were all named to be better than Ireland!)

Okay, I realise that my view in some blues eyes means I'm not a proper City fan and I'm a twat n all that but to be honest I don't care! I thought everyone went overboard with how good everyone thought he was last season (some great performances, but many average and a fair few shit ones is why I thought Kompany was our player of the season!) and I think he'll need to be a hell of a lot better and show a hell of a lot more desire on the pitch than he has done recently to be in a team challenging for the top 4 and higher!
