Dear Mr Steven Ireland - on behalf of true City fans every where I apologise whole heartily on the shambolic way our club has treated you. Best of luck to you and your family on settling in your new surroundings.

Possibly the worst bit of transfer business this club has ever done and it’s becoming plain to see that the old saying ‘More Money Than Sense’ is clearly true

There’s no doubt in my mind that this is one piece of business that we will surely regret and will return to haunt us on many occasions - Ireland is a better player than Villa & Milner already and will prove it this season before going on to higher levels - Just a shame those levels wont be with us.

Your post smacks of arrogance and a lack of respect for a player a lot held in high esteem. A player who was being shown the door and then turning it right round, putting in the extra work to improve his game - something that a lot of people in all walks of life fail to do. You may have 4500 loyalty points, but they don't make up for being a bit of an idiot with a few of your comments regarding Ireland on this thread alone.
Explain the arrogance and lack of respect in wishing him well. Idiot comment.
Arrogance - I won't shed a tear. This thread aint about you.
Lack of respect - to suggest that academies aren't here to produce players to get emotionally attached to, yet your username sort of makes that ironic. Ok it wasn't a lack of respect, it was hypocrtical.

Re: An Apology

Dear Mr Stephen Ireland.

I too wish you well in your new job. However, I strongly disagree with the OP and make no apologies.

All the best,

Blue Dan

PS. I may not think your departure is the worst thing to ever happen to the club, but at least I spelt your name right.

Being for or against Steven Ireland has nothing to do with being a true City fan.

Re: An Apology

I hope Stevie does well for Villa but the OP is talking nonsense IMO, before and after his one very good season he never showed the consistency that is required for teams that are trying to get to the very top. If a change of scenery enables him to find that consistency then all well and good, it won't prove anyone right or wrong though.

Thanks for that, but you don't speak for me. Ireland is a great lad, but sentiment will only get you mid-table shite, milner is another cog in mancini's title challenging machine. As for the worst transfer business..... samaras, weah, dabo, i could type till my fingers bleed. Thanks for the memories stevie, good luck at villa.
I know we don't normally agree, me and you, but I do with this 100%.

I don't agree with you there bob! I nearly always agree with you, the only time was the peado thread you started, (when i wanted to kill you) ;0). Apart from that you are regarded by quagmire as a genuine lad!

Re: An Apology

No apology needed i feel, but from the bottom of my heart, thanks for your dedication and part in our long battle to be contenders, you have played your part well my son, in the good and bad times. Be proud, be blue and now dedicate yourself to your new team

Re: The end of Superman...

Superman.....For being the only player who could pass a ball under Pearce, for that goal against Reading at home, for that celebration against Sunderland, for your performance at The swamp when we won & for that goal at Schalke.....Thank you & Good luck!

Re: An Apology

OK it's progress but nonetheless, he is due respect and was tagged Superman for a bl@@dy good reason. Good luck Stevie...
