They would be much stronger with him playing

But Ireland imo acted like a complete brat and shouldn't be allowed walk back into the squad just because he's changed his mind. He acted like a brat, for whatever reasons, you don't just walk away freely and not look back with no excuse, no apology, nothing. You don't act the way he did, and after an age, after he turned his back on his country, his teammates, and let them do all the hard work, he shouldn't be able to change his mind like that. If Ireland qualify for the world cup, (please God) there will be a few people who'll raise an eyebrow or so.
He's not your typical Irish player though, he doesn't have that attitude. Every player on the pitch tonight showed great character and heart and commitment, they faught hard and give it their all. Can I say that I know that Ireland will give 100% for the team..no.
Irish players, the majority of them, are sound, great characters. Ireland doesn't seem to fit into that type of people that they are. He's a different attitude, he's the flashy personalised cars, a limelight seeker, most Irish players aren't, all of them aren't.
One thing that was so rare about the Irish team is that all the players wanted to play for their country, which can't be said about a lot of modern day players who couldn't be bothered playing for their country, these players love playing for Ireland and see it as an honour, they give everything. Ireland just gives the impression that he thinks he's better then us, that it's almost an embarasment to play in the team. I mean last time I checked, we're not that bad. We don't go to World Cups (if we qualify) hoping to win them, or expecting to, we take it step by and step, and give it our all and ya, we're guilty of having that give it a lash attitude. But I mean Roy Keane was 10 times the player Ireland is, was United's captain, he didn't think he was better then this team. He got himself sent home trying to get improvements for this team at the WC, but he came back because it was an honour to play for the country.
If Ireland was to come back, would people be annoyed..maybe for a microsecond, because he's that good, but if he was going to come back, changed his mind and gave a half assed go on the pitch, then he shouldn't bother at all.
Once he gives 110% no one will care, but that's all we expect here, we're not deluded like the English..(no offense) we don't think that we'll win the WC or whatever, we take it game by game, wanting everyone to give 110% and if we go on, great, if we don't, there's nothing more we could really have asked for them. The last time Ireland were in any sort of campaign was the WC in 2002 and it was the highlight of a lot of these lads careers, how Ireland doesn't want to be a part of that is beyond me.
But everytime the RTE (Irish) panel talk about the WC and can Ireland qualify, it always comes down to someone saying that for the sake of Given, Dunne..etc, great players who haven't a lot of time left, should get another chance to show how good they are on the world stage and would hope and love if we do.
That and we had the best time there, mighty craic.
Ireland seems to have the attitude of a typical Premiership superstar.

5th paragraph down describes how most of the players and friends of the players and families and a bucket load of Irish fans, ended up in this Irish pub in Korea (because they are everywhere) after the Spanish game that knocked us out, and it tells basically of all the craic they had, and there's a line there where he said can you imagine the English players doing the same..Ireland fits into that group. He's more one of them, those superstar players, then one of the Irish lads.
Look do I want Ireland to come back, yes. More then anything, but we will not beg..well we might be desperate enough to do so, but in principle anyway, we wont beg.

Fuck off fella!
What do you mean you're not deluded like the English? England HAVE got a chance of winning the world cup next year with the quality of our players whom have not had a manager to take them places in the last fuck knows how many years but now we have and the weather (its gonna be like 10-15degrees over in SA next summer! compared to the usual massive heat and humidity you usually get in world cups) it will suit our game down to the ground!
Not deluded, ha.......I went to Uni with Irish lads and have met a fair few over the years! The lads i went to uni with (there were about 10-12 of them at my uni) all said they hate the English (and they did, all the Irish lads told me over and over again how they hated us all, hated our Govt, our national teams, our people etc! Like when you've just disrespected us by saying we're delusional[we're not the ones who still believe in God FFS!]!) but they all supported English football teams! WHAT THE FUCK! Ask them why and they said "oh everyone supports them over in Ireland!" or "because Roy Keane plays for United!" (so they dont actually support United they just supported the player - that's not supporting the fucking team, no where near the same!
Plus, i dont give a fuck what you think of Stevie Ireland! You dont know him so cant really cast judgement, you're just going off what you THINK or what you've HEARD or what you've READ IN THE MEDIA! I personally hope he just stays as a club player and fucks you lot off!
Sorry to those who think ive gone over the top here but being called delusional by some twat who's just come on here to tell me his negative opinion (not fact, how do you know Stevie isnt really hurting inside and is dying to play for the country again but there might be something that has gone on that we dont know [like what i have heard of the team all pinning him down and tying to pull his wig off last time he was with the squad - would i want to play with them players again, NO CHANCE!])of our player, of England players and of English people in general! DO ONE PAL!

Because the majority of the Irish squad are wankers and the Irish FA and Steve Staunton fucked the whole "grannygate" up for him. It was a stupid naive mistake from a young lad who just wanted to be with his girlfriend who had just miscarridge. There was no need for the Irish FA to announce any details to the press, they could of been professional and just said "Family issues"

A part of me wishes Ireland never steps out in the Irish green jersey again, fuck them. He's a blue now and as much as i would love to see him perform on the world cup stage it would mean he would give the same chance to fucking wankers like Stephen Hunt.

In you're own sentence, you genuinely think ye'll win every year. Ye've a handful of really good players but not a good team. They've failed shockingly every single time, I mean ye didn't even qualify for the Euro's.
I mean, we go there with no delusions, if we get there that is, but ye think ye'll win it.
Ye're not the home of the beautiful game, ye're the hosts. That's the truth of it. Ye've some excellent players but they can't and don't play well together.
So it's the managers fault and the weathers that ye fail to get anywhere near winning a competition.
You think I've "disrespected" ye because I said ye were deluded? And then you go on and say that we're deluded because we "still believe in God," and you think what I've said is disrespectful?
What some idiots thought years ago has nothing to do with us or my post.
And for your information, I actually, unlike you, do know Ireland, I knew him as a lad.
He acted like a brat. Not why he left in the first place, he's a young lad, he made a mistake, but his attitude afterwards that is my problem.
Ireland had no problem pulling down his shorts after scoring a goal during a game in front of thousands of people and the tv cameras, but what, he got upset with the lads apparently making fun of his hair? It's bull, it's an excuse. He didn't want to play for Ireland, for whatever reason. But no one has ever had a problem with this team. They are sound bunch of lads.
His excuse was that a few of the lads were making fun of his hair, I mean, the Irish mentatlity is to take the absolute piss out of eachother. I mean, you should be worried if you're not getting made fun of.
No one has ever had a problem with this squad, even when Roy Keane was in it. Ireland's making excuses why he doesn't want to play. And now, now that Ireland look like they could well qualify suddenly he's interest again.
I disrespected no one.
Do I think ye are a bit dellusional to think ye'll win, yes.
That's the problem, ye get so caught up in it all, ye're convinced every tournament is yere's to win. That's why I think ye're deluded, I meant no offense. But I think you proved my point by your reaction.
