Marwood must have been burning up the phone lines with his favourite new rag boy toy Taylor last night...it's a real shame that whatever the problems behind the scenes, City are so desperate to splash them all over the national media...

I noticed this myself. Clearly City blackening his name. Disappointing but not unexpected.

look steven ireland clearly doesn't fit into our managers plans, its time we moved on here as dissapointed as we all are
we are going to have to live or die by mancini's decision here.
let's hope we don't regret it

I wont have a go at Stevie. Why ? We dont know why hes asking for this :

(1) He doesnt want to leave city so has asked for a stupid amount he thinks we wont pay.

(2) He doesnt want to go to Villa - he said as much in a recent interview and the noises we keep hearing back this up so has asked for a stupid amount he thinks we wont pay.

(3) Its written in his contract he is enttitled to xx of transfer fee.

(4) Have Villa matched his wages ? Unlikely, so strictly speaking he would be looking for the difference to be covered.

Finally unlike every other player in the squad he has not spoken out in the press thus far. Hes kept his mouth shut and tried to do it the right way. Personally this means alot to me. There is no idication Ireland doesnt want to stay at city in fact the exact opposite. It looks like he really is being forced out of the door and he doesnt want to be forced out.

The Milner deal has always been shocking on paper for us, I really dont rate Milner as a player that highly I dont understand what he offers our squad over and above the players we already have. So I am happy for this deal to fall through and Ireland to stay for another season in the hope his form improves.

If its in his contract then we should pay it.

If it is not in then its an attempt to screw a bit more cash from us.

I dont know if its in or not and neither does anyone on here probably.

It's Mancini who lives and dies by his decisions.

Luckily we are absolutely loaded so we can get over it.

It doesn't mean to say I agree with this one though.

Might not be in his contract but what is in his contract is that we will pay him approx 13.5m over the next 4 years, therefore there has to be a sweetener to rip this contract up.

He doesn't want to leave and he has a long-term contract with the club. Therefore he can asky for whatever he wants if City want to force him out. He holds all the cards and is being shafted by the club. He's fully entitled to shaft us in return for whatever he can get his hands on.

If City are that bothered, they should just pay the full amount for Milner, leave Ireland out of the 25-man squad and then spark a bidding war for him. There'll be plenty of teams willing to get involved.

Of course they`re will be plenty of Teams willing to get involved.
But thankfully non of the top ones !!

I loved to watch Steve, the 1/2 good season hehad for us before that he frustrated me, which Steve was going to turn up, the one who looked like he could beat anyone or the one who couldn't be arsed.

IMO all we have had for the last season is the one who couldn't be arsed again IMO if he can't be arsed then why should we pay him? We (through our admission fee's or ST's) pay him to play for our club, the last time I saw him actually play was 18 months ago.

You broke your contact first Steve, don't expect a pay off.

Seems like a big stink over nothing. If he's entitled to it, then pay it move on and bring in Milner. If its not in his contract then in the best interests of the club, cut a deal with him and move on.

On the money we have spent £2m is nothing, messing around like this a day out from the start of the season doesnt do the team any good.
