Ireland vs Club America, in fact Ireland against anyone.....

Seems like a number of blues have short memories. Ireland is Superman.

Ye, remember him in Svens year? One good season does not make a player.
Saying that I think we should keep him

Let him go to Fulham on loan, i don't think he's got it personally but give him a chance and see how he performs elsewhere for a season!

not like we need the money if we sell him, but wouldn't be gutted to see him go

worst thing to do - he either does ot this season or he should go - keep him at the club and let him fight for his place

can i ask though why when hes in a good position to score he ALWAYS passes it??

he didnt used to do that

Some fans seem to go out of their way or take a lot of time to write posts putting down our players, for the past few months Stevie seems to be the scapegoat and the main target for this. I admit he hasn't been great this season (09/10) but he was really showing a lot of promise last season (08/09) and I think that is enough to trust him and to give him a chance, maybe his little dip this season was just that, a little dip and he will be back to his performances we saw him give last season (08/09).

One thing that he needs is a bit more confidence, imagine coming up through the youth squad and all of a sudden the team you play for starts bringing in the likes of Tevez and Adebayor and you know they will start to bring even bigger names in. That would start to make me feel a bit starstruck and so on and make me question if I could play with guys like this. In my opinion Stevie can and I would place him in the same group of players such as those two, I just think maybe he needs a bit of support to give him his confidence back and make him realise he can get back to his great performances we saw in the 08/09 season and he does deserve to be on the same team as these players.

One thing that isn't helping at all, or isn't doing anything positive, in fact it's doing the negative, is writing hundreds of posts saying we don't want him here or he's terrible and so on. There are other players in this squad who aren't that great who I wouldn't be surprised if there were all these posts about but the fact that there are no posts like this about them makes me even more surprised when I see Ireland getting made the scapegoat and getting picked out for these kind of posts.

He needs our support, which is what fans should do!

Just to add this story with quotes from him shows just how much our club means to him: http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/35999.html

I hear someone like Robinho wanting to quit and leave and then Ireland who is getting all of these negative comments from some fans is saying "I have worked hard during my years at City and I love the club."

This quote just shows how much the changes at the club have to do with things too:

"It didn't go that well for me last season, when there were a lot of changes at the club, but it is only a season ago that I was Player of the Year at the club and my view is that I haven't become a bad player overnight. The manager hopefully doesn't think that either."

Mancini seems to like defensive tactics and this has been a bit of a thorn in Ireland's side.

As Stevie is one of the few players who can spot and execute the killer pass from a congested midfield and also arrive late into the box to score important goals, then as he has learned his trade at platt lane, the best thing for MCFC to do would be to allow rag vermin to take him on a free to replace the ginger pig who is nearing his retirement.
FFS get real, Stevie is one of the best players in the world at what he does best, and that is NOT as a winger.
Scholes has broke my heart too often scoring in the Manchester Salford derby, but it would be ten times worse if one of our own done it.

I highly doubt the majority of people on this thread are city fans, or if you are, then you make me ashamed to be one.

How fickle can you get? No doubt you were all chanting his name when he was storming the Prem for a full season. He's had a few injuries, been shifted about in formations to accomadate other less talented players and his confidence is shot to pieces.

He needs an arm round his shoulder, a place in the team to shine, and the fans chanting his name again. Then he'll be back to his best, and when he is, we all know he's unstoppable.

Shit fans with a shit attitude
Whoop-di-doo Basil, Berbatov was world class at Tottenham but i bet you still call him shit now.

does any1 think hes bin played in the position he played when he did well?? hes bin on a downer since his heart scare

Yes, but only because he's a rag ! I hope he NEVER re-discovers that form.
