Most Irish peole are good people like anywhere else you go. It’s the same with most Liverpool and Celtic fans, even though I dislike their clubs.

I think there is a problem that the troubles were so long ago that many younger people don’t realise how brutal they were. The same goes for some people who discover they are Rangers fans as well as supporters of English clubs.

Fair enough , but I think they do understand how brutal and horrific it was and ,in there opinion we caused it all where as I think all sides did stuff that is nothing to be proud of, that is why a lot of the Irish love the Wolftones ( I think that what they are called ) , the reason I like/support Rangers is cause I fucking hate Celtic and everything there stand for . I went to the friendly at Landsdowne Road got beat 3 1 and I have never seen hatred like it , I have been to Leeds , Liverpool and them cunts from down the road but that day was hanging spitting on my Dad the songs that day made me support Rangers rightly or wrongly weather you believe that or not is entirely upto you .

I’ve been all over Ireland, including the little villages in between Dublin and those in which you’ve described.

Never felt any animosity and they didn’t seem cult-like wankers like the Scousers.

I did have an Irishman in Manchester shout abuse at me for wearing a poppy several years ago though, never seen someone run so quick.

He was fairly young tho and seemed a scrote.

Yes. It’s a desperate needy want to be accepted attitude, one that thinks being born in a certain place automatically means you have to defend said place to the hilt regardless of how silly it all is. It’s how wars are started, it’s how hatred festers and those who do it are generally the type who don’t have the self awareness to realise the damage they cause.
In case I’m not clear, flag wavers are cunts.
I’m not expecting much agreement btw but that’s how I feel about it.
