Is ADHD made up?

i think its made up bollocks.

You have a daughter don't you, or is it two you have? Either way, say she has got to 6 years old and the behaviour is that bizarre and worrying you have decided to seek medical help. You go through the process of tests and after 6 months it's diagnosed as ADHD. Now you know for a fact you've fed her right, provided her with the required nutrition etc and have done what you perceive to be a good job in parenting her, but that behavioural issue was so much that you had to get the help now provided. You read into what has been given to you as the diagnosis and you think to yourself, 'christ, that is her to a tee'. Knowing that it's not you, not the toffees, not the Pepsi but it is infact what the specialist has said, do you still say to yourself that its 'made up bollocks', or do you embrace what the specialist, (who knows far more than you ever will on the matter), has told you and look forward to assisting your daughter so that her behaviour stabilises?

i'm old and stuff like this makes me laugh, how is it we didn't have it years ago? its just an excuse for a brat of a kid., more likely the little fucker is spoilt and as soon as the word no is used they throw a tantrum.
i know a lot of people think it is a real "illness" i'm just not one of them.

i have 4 kids and they all did as they were fucking told. they still do.

We never had all these diffrent sex dieseses back in the day, are they made up bollocks?

Often those who suffer the most are those from less well-off backgrounds because the help is harder to get. I do think some play on it, but most just genuinely are screwed with it and it's a genuine shame.

Calm down! Most of those I knew with ADHD came from poorer backgrounds, hence the route they went down to find out what was wrong was a lot harder plus their conditions were made worse by families falling apart.

Did I say anything about people staying with drunkards? Family problems caused trauma which in turn worsened the ADHD.

It would be interesting to see a study done of the children diagnosed with ADHD 10 years on to see what number of them still have it. I think that would go a long way to deciding whether it is real or whether it is just there are a large amount of made up cases to explain a **** of a childs behaviour!

My brother had to go for tests three yrs ago still got the brain scans he still has it and always will. But he is also a lawyer married and has two beautiful children so :)

There are no brain imaging tests that can help to diagnose ADHD
