Is getting drunk worth the hangover?

If the next day (or two is even better) can be strategically planned so I have absolutely nothing to do / see to, most definitely. I can just wallow

If the next day has any kind of task or woe betide is a ‘work day’, then it’s a definite no from me because that is fucking horrific.

Did the one dayer in Lyon a while back. On the piss all day, hardly any scran and no sleep for 24 hours.

Felt like Ian Curtis for 4 days straight afterwards.

We went to watch Celtic in Lyon and were there for five days drinking like fuck and hardly eating. I was a bit younger then but we were like dead men walking and it took me a week before I regained the will to live. Brutal, but a brilliant time.

I went back to bed after the Liverpool match today. Still there now so I share your pain. I'm 51 so should know better. I'm aching all over.

It's not just the hangover, it's the associated massive beer downer that comes with it

The alcohol gets me down and it takes a couple of days to come back up to normal.
I still have a good gargle now and then though....

Me too. Although this was drinking from 10am everyday until the wee small hours. Maybe on as a sub with 20 to go.

I cant hack it anymore. Used yo avoid hangover by not stopping drinking. But always pints never shots or shorts.used to play rugby and cricket weekends and skittles and snooker in the week.8 pints a night minimum but would kill me now.My missus has Ms and am her carer as well as working so hardly touch a drop nowadays although could do with something most nights to be able to chill.

Yesterday's meet up was a one off for me drinking wise nowadays. Just been chatting to @Bigg Bigg Blue on the phone. Apart from the duration of the game we were on the piss over 12 hours. We probably had 6-7 pints in the Grey Horse before the game, 3 pints in the Star Bar before the game, 2 after the game. And I haven't a fuckin' clue how many we had in the Horse after the game. I'm guessing 7-9 pints. Then went to Stalybridge and probably had another 5 before getting home absolutely shitfaced about 2-30am.

But in good company this can and does happen and most of us were a bit like drunken skittles about to fall over before we departed there. I never drink to get drunk, it's the spontaneity of the occasion in good spirits amongst friends, and all of you i met for the first time, nice to meet you. We had a ball fellow blues, and now I'm still feeling a bit delicate. Hic! : /
