Is it correct that Bolton had their allocation increased

Are the wee-men who were at the front of the second tier the guys out of Phoenix Nights?

How far away are they? Still makes me laugh.

pointless discussion and clutching at straws...begone yonner.....

I'll stick around though if that's ok, I wouldn't normally enter a battle of wits with unarmed men but I have a soft spot where City fans are concerned

what does Yonner mean? I've heard Utd fans call us that too, but never had it explained

If you live "up yonder" then you are one ....... ok yonner?

Has anyone else noticed how this is beginning to sound rather familiar - but it's us that are being the 'I'm bigger than you' bully this time?

So what if Bolton do have lower crowds than us - they have a much smaller area to attract fans from than us - there's a hell of a lot of competition in the North West - Us, Bolton, Bury, Blackburn, Burnley, Wigan, a bit further afield Preston, Oldham, Stockport, Rochdale. Then there's the Scouse teams not too far away. I think that's it ;-)

Thats five teams within a few miles of Bolton - all in the Premiership.

Where would the English league system be if everyone supported big clubs?

I've a lot of respect for people who support the smaller clubs - no chance of CL , PL title, FA or League cup yet they still turn up to watch their local team every other week.

Please stop this - some people are beginning to sound like supporters of the very club that is hated so much by so many.

we also spent a good few years out of the top flight and at least 28k of the fans stuck by the club in the 3rd tier while our rivals utd were doing the treble..... and all the young kids went to support utd.

You spent ONE season in the Third Division. We spent a decade in the Third and Fourth Divisions.

'28K' didn't stick by the club in the late 80's though did they? From what i remember you were struggling to muster 19,500.

it's difficult to fill a ground that isn't even there!

ffs you're an idiot, some of the bolton fans on here are fine, but you're giving them all a bad name and pissing us off, so no wonder we're giving it large to your ignorance.

and your chairman is a nob because you're £90m in debt and epitomise everything wrong with modern day football, unsustainable and trying to reserve your place in the big league by modifying it when there are plenty of decent clubs with far less debt who are run far better who I'd much rather were up in the league.

I don't mind your manager or a lot of your team(though dirty players like Davies and Robinson give you bad stick) but your arrogance to come on here and have a go and then moan when we give you stick, and your twat of a chairman, give you a worse feeling on here.

Most of the stuff on here are little good natured jokes, but some of you do piss people off with your stinking attitude, so maybe you should learn some respect and humility on other people's forums.

Excellent post, a blue who thinks like a real football fan, respect for loyal fans of smaller clubs , its good to know that in the midst of the arab money some of you have not lost sight of reality and can show a modicum of humility and common sense.

i respect those who go, but don't come on here claiming you're bigger than you are or tell us what we are.

There are some idiots but you get them everywhere, several on both sides just on this thread.

Embarrassing thread very rag like
So what if we have more fans than them
Fuckin silly

yonner

A native of 1 of the many semi-rural mill towns situated in the Pennine region of northern England. Yonners can be found in a number of counties, namely: Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria, Derbyshire and in the more upland areas of east Cheshire.
The term 'Yonner' equates with the Scouse term 'Wooley Back'.
TV shows such as: The League Of Gentlemen, The Last Of The Summer Wine, Emmerdale, Where The Heart Is, Heartbeat, and One Man And His Dog, all feature Yonner characters. Even Coronation Street, although set in the more urban City of Salford, features an overwhelmingly Yonner-voiced cast (Deidre Barlow and her mother, Janice Battersby, Fred the butcher, Digby the baker, Sally Webster and Vera Duckworth, to name a few...).
Yonners speak like farmers, wear short sleeved shirts without a coat or a jumper in the middle of winter, drink plenty of Skol lager (like their ancient Viking ancestors), partake in bloodsports, are educationally subnormal, and either shout or mumble when speaking. They are also very adept at peddling bicycles up steep, cobbled streets.
"Go and milk your cows, you fucking Yonner!"
