Is Manchester a tough place to live in?

It has got a lot of endearing qualities but having moved away 9 years ago I would struggle to move back.

Been down south 9 years now and coming back for the Everton match, my longest period without returning because of Covid, I could not get over the amount of litter on the streets. It was like people had given up or didn’t care. Also there seems to be a disproportionate number of anti-social people. Whether at the petrol station, in the pubs seems hard to avoid them.
Yep,a shithole.....people are kidding themselves (and certainly havent been far) if they think otherwise.

There's no place like home, even if that's Hartlepool. The only thing I liked about my time working in Manchester was all the City fans - this was 20 years ago and I was dreading being in scum central, so was pleasantly surprised. Apart from that I didn't care for it. Didn't see a single beach.

Yes lived here all my life and no longer like it.
I moved to Sale last year but still not happy, too much traffic and too many idiots.
Want to move to the lakes 1 day.

Great post this. Its a completely different world down South. Spent a couple of months there in my early 20s and looking back I should never have moved back. You hit Birmingham and its all down fucking hill from there.
