I flew out from T2 the other week. Flight was 8.30, we got there at 4.30 and they opened the check in about 15 minutes later. Was in the bar before 6

Please bear with me on this question because I am not a frequent flyer. I only flew for the first time 8 years ago (I had a fear of flying since being a child).

I'm going to Dublin next week and last time I went there was from Heathrow with BA. This time I'm going from T1 at Manc airport with Ryanair. Only ever flown with Ryanair once before.
I know I do the online check in the day before, but is there any time restraints on when I can do the self service check in thing with the hold luggage?
We are looking to get to the airport about 5pm for our 10pm flight. Just want to dump the hold luggage, do the (no doubt) horrendous lengthy security checks queue and then still have some time to relax before the flight.

Any advice much appreciated.

Could have sworn it said T1 when I googled flight departures for next Friday, but thanks for putting me right ;-)
So will we be able to check in our hold luggage as soon as we get there? Our flight is at 10pm but we are planning on getting there at 5pm. It's just that my friend has a back problem and we want to be able to not stand around as much as possible. Many thanks.

It was T1 whilst they were doing some work on T3, but they reverted back the weekend before I flew out which was a couple of weeks ago

It was easy enough getting through, but the queue for the bar was a shambles
