Is Manchester airport the worst in Europe?

I live roughly the same distance to both Manchester and Liverpool airports.

Just booked flights for a private stay in Lanza early Sept and decided for the first time to give the dip airport a go....flights cheaper but not quite as good times, parking slightly cheaper also.

I've yet to hear about general issues at dipland (fingers crossed) but, it's always a worry at Manchester.

Not flown out of there for a while but was a piece of piss compared to Manchester last time we did

There are no issues at Liverpool Airport apart from a few dodgy accents and an uncomfortable amount of red shifted scousers

Certainly needed..is this a big build ?

Massive!

The Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MANTP), our £1.3 bn investment to revolutionise the colleague and customer experience, is making great progress.

Take a look inside Terminal 2 to see how the development is shaping up.

Ann Campbell, Business Change Manager, and Lois Fallon, Senior Project Manager, take us on a tour of the passenger journey from landside to check-in, through to the terminal and onto the airfield.

Terminal 1/3 shite this morning. Security a nightmare not helped by thick fucks who still arrive with liquids, lap tops, the kitchen sink and don't start sorting it until they get to the annoying, patronising dick in a hi vis.

Far superior to Manchester in every way.

Another one who prefers Liverpool, it's not much further in the car but the whole experience is miles better than the appalling Manchester airport.

When you park up, it's next to the airport. There's rarely any queues when checking in and going through security and the whole atmosphere it just a lot nicer.

June was another record-breaking month for Manchester Airport as 3m passengers travelled through.

It was also the first month when our rolling 12-month total number of passengers surpassed 2019 levels, making it our busiest year yet.

Passengers continue to have great experiences as an independent survey has revealed 86.3% of people using Manchester Airport between January and June rated their experience as good, very good or excellent.

Well it was a mixed bag or should I say wet bag. For the second time on the bounce I got through security without having to even queue, straight to trays put me stuff in and away I went. It was 4am mind but we'll done non the less.

All down hill from there mind because in typical fashion you're gonna get fucked at some point at the dirty inhospitable international airport that is Manchester. Plenty of time for a pint you would think except everywhere selling alcohol had queues outside. One particular establishment had 30 people in a line all wanting drink, food or both. One guy on the till. Great business acumen that fucknuts.

Anyhow the weather had been bad so bad that when I opened my case 9 and a half hours later, after entrusting it to the knuckledraggers that are the baggage handlers nearly all my clothes were soaking wet. So we'll done for obviously dumping it on the concrete in a puddle.

How hard is it not to dump peoples luggage without showing at least some care of others peoples possessions? Who are these arseholes and what is generally their problem with holiday makers.

Special mention to the standard miserable git at passport control on the way back. Yes I'm so scared of your miserable stern demeaner and looking at the passport and me over and over to make you feel important is really impressive. You sit in a chair and look at a photograph for a living. You ain't in the FBI.

Just flew in about an hour ago. Everything went smoothly.

Until I got to the train station. Ticket office closed, big queues at the ticket machines, and one man at a counter near the glass doors going out to the platforms. Christ he was slow. I thought my clothes were going to be back in fashion by the time I was swerved. And the train is currently crawling in to Piccadilly. Left the airport 25 minutes ago, and still not in Piccadilly.

We are currently in the 2nd week of our holiday in Greece. We flew out with Jet 2 from Terminal 1 and had to use the B security which is in a cellar under the main terminal. My lad has Type 1 diabetes and epilepsy so we use the special assistance lane, but in the B security room all the lanes merge into one, so It's a waste of time for those paying for fast track. Anyhow, because of his meds we pack a medical case as separate carryon luggage. In fairness the staff were good and understanding and he didn't have to go through the xray. I booked the escape lounge as a surprise for the kids and so glad I did. Although it didn't have views of the runway it was relaxing to sit there and not worry about finding a seat in the shitty departure lounge which was absolutely chaos with queues for food and drinks stretching for miles.

Liverpool on the other hand is much more relaxed. We flew from there to lanzarote and even had time to joke with the security guy who opened the sister in laws case to find it packed with pot noodles and princes sandwich spreads. I explained we were on an aid mission to introduce the joys of such foods to the residents of Lanzarote because it was unlikely they had them over there.
