Is Mancini Being Set Up?

Its just one PR disaster after another. What is going on?
First the News Conference fiasco where he was left to deal with wreckage of Garry Cook's blurtings about meeting dates.
Then Cook compromises him by saying he had already been in talks with Liverpool.
Then this clumsy attempt to say that there was contact with Veron but it was just a joke.
Now it's looking like Ansaldi will sign despite a public denial.

The posters on here who say they have it on unimpeachable (but not disclosable) authority that Mancini is a willing stopgap until Mourinho arrives could be right then.

Maybe he is being set up as a patsy.

If City sack Mancini to make way for Mourinho it will be an act of incredible and unforgiveable stupidity.
Do you have a link for the thread? Just interested to read as I must have missed it.

All i know is that we can all guess about what's going to happen, but don't fall for the line that anyone on here knows anything because they know fuck all.
How many got Mancini being our next manager ?????that's right not one.
I reckon if he ends the season with a Trophy & Chumps league football they will keep him..........i can't say the same for cook or marwood though.

my personal take on this is that the club have gotten so sick and tired of the shit that the press keep writing that they have decided not to give them any info whatsoever about signings to teach them a valuble lesson. you write shit about us then you get nothing.
wouldnt be such a bad idea imo.

I can say categorically that City under ADUG will never again give carte blanche in the transfer market to a manager. Brain Marwood for better or for worse is the most powerful man at the club when it comes to deciding WHICH players to target and/or sign...

DD, you're right. Mourinho will not work like that. One of many reasons why I think the ship has sailed on us bringing him in...

Just because you say it does not make it so and I do not believe that you are privvy to that level of discussion.

I'm not asking anyone to take what I say as gospel. And I'm certainly not saying I'm privy to discussions on any level at City. However, if you think back to Mancini's introductory press conference, he made it clear that he would make signings in conjunction with Marwood and Cook.

LOL. So if the man chosen by Cook and Marwood to replace Hughes succeeds, you think it won't make their jobs any safer...

By the way, Marwood was dead against the signings of Toure, Lescott, and Adebayor. Hughes put his foot down and insisted.

Let me get this straight.

Mancini is being set up when he's a willing participant in a plot to let Mourinho take over? How can he be set up in such a scenario. He already knows what is to happen.

As for Ansaldi. He is used to coaching in Italy. Managers there are used to having not as much say about who comes and goes from the club. So him speaking about any player isn't to be taken all that seriously per se. And he's also used to media games galore having coached at one of Italy's biggest clubs. He can play games.

I love the fact that I don't have to attend any of the club's board meetings to hear what the policy, strategy, structure and who's getting sacked next is, as it is available to all... by just logging on here!

Keep up the good work.
