Is Mancini Being Set Up?

On a more serious note... as an avowed conspiracy theorist who is fascinated by stories of murky deeds and double-crossing, even I have to draw a line under some of the stuff being promulgated on here recently.

How come some people (and they know who they are!) are so convinced that Mourinho is set to take over at the end of the season? That Mancini is merely a sitting tenant, keping the seat warm for his previous successor at Inter.

It just deosn't make sense... at any level.

Mancini could make a really good case as actually being the better manager. The owners have had links with his appointment long before Mourinho was mentioned and his appointment as replacement for Hughes was not that great a shock.

In fact, it's strange that those who "know" all about the Mancini - Mourinho scenario never had a scooby about Manicini getting the job at City even though it is now known that the deal had been in place for 3 weeks. The night of the Spurs game only had posters stating that Hughes would be gone at the end of the season, no one predicted he would be gone within 36 hours (apart from one person..)

How come no one knew about that... yet they know about the arrangements in place now.

Just doesn't add up.

Head on the block time... Mancini wil be in charge next season... COME WHAT MAY.

Anyone prepared to say otherwise and stand by it? Maybe even a small wager?

I have the answer - there are a lot of tits on this forum who get a massive hard on pretending they are ITK. Just ignore them.

Mancini is not being 'set up'. He has just been handed a fantastic opportunity to prove he's the man for the job. If he continues the way he's started, then he stays, regardless of who becomes available in the summer. That includes a certain Jose Mourinho, and I'm a big Mourinho fan.

Agreed.

I personally think Mancini knows he is only here till the summer....

You are Mancini.
You have a contract with Inter until 2012.
6 million per year.
for a total of 18 million.
do you cancel that contract for a 6 months to coach City ?

do you really think that he is an idiot?

strangest post ever.

Mancini was unemployed.

No , terminated with Inter after he had assurances from City owner , not before

FGS please calm dowm and let whats going to happen, happen.

I was a big Morinho advocate but things have moved on.

Mancini is here and he's started very well. I think he is quite likely to deliver two trophies this season, so just sit back and enjoy the football.

Please just all relax and wait and see.

If we were to continue as we have started then the question for me would be who is the better, Mancini or Mourinho? Quite frankly I like what I have seen from Mancini (not that the clueless one was a hard act to follow) but we do now need stability and to give the man time - he has the gift that we have been craving for for years... believe me, Mourinho may be the special one, but Mancini is the chosen one, without a doubt!

AQgift from above for our long suffering club and its very very loyal supporters.

Possibly. I understand the contract 'dispute' with Inter was resolved in October but as to 'assurances' from the City owner that we do not know (or at least I don't anyway). Mancini was linked to the City job last year and there was media speculation in the summer that Hughes had until Christmas and if it wasn't going well then Mancini would get the nod to take over.

Which as it transpired is exactly what happened.

I do not believe for a minute that Mancini has a 6 month contract. But I do believe that he has assured ADUG that top 4 is very doable this year and that he has to get top 4 otherwise ADUG will be looking at other candidates. They may still stick with Mancini but as with Hughes his fate is in his own hands and I cannot see why anyone has a problem with this. If you are hired to do a job then you f**king do it otherwise there's the door and make sure you close it on the way out.

All i know is that we can all guess about what's going to happen, but don't fall for the line that anyone on here knows anything because they know fuck all.

I reckon if he ends the season with a Trophy & Chumps league football they will keep him..........i can't say the same for cook or marwood though.

That's a great phrase... I might starting using it from now on!

Mourinho is the Special One...

while Mancini is the Chosen One!

Brilliant.
