Is now the time to consider Mancini's tenure at the club

where do you sit on the Mancini in/out debate ? your kid is clearly in the out department lol

Our kid knows fuck all - he was calling for Mancini last feb/march

Too many people forget how far we've come in a short space of time and now treat the managers job like the 'superstar' footballers we aspire to sign, yet forget we've actually signed them and have a world class manager..... even if we don't retain the title he should be afforded the right to have another crack, I don't think he will from what i'm hearing though!!!

it isn't up to us at the end of the day but I'd like Mancini to be with us for a long time. I worry about who would bring the best out of the team and stick around to give us stability. not looking for a selfish, quick fix journeyman like mourinho. he's good but is he right ?

Our owners and current infrastructure won't have Jose anywhere near the club hon, this i'd wager with anyone, the scary thing for Bob is Pep in the background, it's a real possibility that he could be sat in the dugout next year!!

I agree.

Over the coming decades there will be loads of years where we don't win anything, but we shouldn't be sacking the manager each time. And besides, there's a double on for us still this season!

Thats the spirit young nigel!!!

And so it should imo - it's one thing managing messi and evolving a philosophy of how to play the game but I actually think he'd be to nice/soft for the post, that and another massive overhaul of players isn't what we need!!

If Jose could take the current Villa side and make them a top two side next season with the money they currently have it would say he is top notch manager.

He never lasts more than 4 seasons at a Club and makes sure when he leaves them he has done his best to divide the club down the middle when he walks out or gets the flick.

One of the marks of a good manager is how better they perform relatively speaking after he leaves.

This season he is already 16 points behind Barca and has given up on the title.

If he was at City this season after winning the title the previous season we would all be asking for his head.

He cannot manage a team unless he given a wad load of cash and he has to take on a team that already has had recent success but suffered a blip in form.

Let him take on Villa if he returns to the premier league and lets see how he goes.

we don't have the infastructure of a club like Barcelona, they are built in such a way that a man on the touchline is basically a formality. that club runs itself.

Er fanks ;) lol

Even if we don't win a trophy this season, I think he should have another year. Mancini has said many times that we are not the finished article and the likes of barca, Madrid, united and Munich have been winning trophies for years. A great team does not get built over night, so we are going to experience frustrating games.

Just makes you think if Mancini got the players he wanted earlier in the summer, would we be near the finished article?

Don't care what any of you say, United are absolute pants and we just need to hang on in there until our strikers start firing a bit more consistently. Tomorrow will be interesting, though, because obviously the Chelskies still look a threat.

-- Sat Dec 29, 2012 8:15 pm --

Same here. With the best will in the world, he is beyond being a one club man.

no

what mancini has said many times is that you can build a great team overnight , but not a great club. City ATM are not a great club , one of that club that could never been refereed like we was today. you'll never see a real madrid , a barca , a juventus , a bayern or a rag team refereed that way.
